It really depends on what type of traveller you are as to whether or not this is the right hostel for you. At the time I stayed here it was one of my first hostels in China and I thought it was ok. But having stayed in many more now I have to say that this one doesn't really meet... More

If you like dorms that lack natural lighting, concrete slabs for beds, mould in your bathroom/toilet and doors that rot away while you look at them than this is your place to stay. Otherwise I would pick something else. I thought YHA hostels would guarantee a certain standard but nothing is less true. I travelled alone and usually meet someone... More

Not what we was expecting from the photos. Our room had broken aircondition, no door to the bathroom, and no matress whatsoever in the bed... We stayed here 3 nights and ended up going to a real hotel instead, that was only 50RMB more. If you're a backpacker only staying a few nights, sure, this might be for you. If... More

The facilities are absolutely dire. The promotional literature for this hostel states that it was formerly a prison and a factory and basically nothing has been upgraded since then. The facilities were unclean (even by Chinese standards). The rooms and dark a prison like with wires and pipes exposed. The bunk bed I was staying on was so poorly constructed... More

The staff would gain from being a little friendlier, the building would gain from being a lot dryer, the toilets would gain from being cleaner. All in all it is a very expensive place for the service you get. Only dorms are ok ...

This was our first hostel in Beijing and it wasn't a great choice. Its near to the underground but its awkward to find down a few alleyways. Look out for signs on the wall. The hostel itself is very basic and the beds are very hard. We had a private room in what looked like an old slaughter house out... More

Dont go there! We arrived at 2o clock at night (it is really hard to find.) And left early morning! Its not worth to pay for this hostel. We were there in Autum and the rooms are very cold and you could not turn the heater on. The room is moisty and has strange smell. The bar has a creative... More

The rooms are really bad, but mostly clean and without cockroaches but the really need to be renewed. But the staff is very nice and the best is the food. If you don´t care so much about nice rooms it´s really nice there.

I stayed in this hostel with my parents, so I saw both a private room and a dorm room. The private room was ugly, has a tiny window, a leaky sink, a bathroom with a curtain for a door, no TV, no cups, no towels, had an uncomfortable bed, and had bad insulation. My parents were awoken by the neighbors... More

Can't be bothered to cab down to Houhai or Gongti to get smashed? There's a bar at the hostel with free pool, an indoor basketball court and cheap beer. Located near the Yonghegong Lama Temple and in the middle of the hutong, expect lots of cheap Chinese food in the area.
