After a long flight from Seattle to Beijing I found this hotel quite comfortable before making my connection to Guilin the following day. The room was clean and spacious and the bed comfortable. The hotel's restaurant was quite convenient with a variety of Chinese dishes to choose from. Highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for an inexpensive stay over.... More

As you can read in the other reviews this hotel is where you end up when you miss you connecting flight in Beijing having booked airchina. It is very close to the airport but standard is los. Airchina even wants to put you with a stranger in a double room, so you have to pay 150 rmb to get a... More

After missing our connecting flight to bangkok we ended up here at air china's expense. Room was clean, staff spoke very little English but were helpful enough. Complimentary Dinner buffet was lack luster as was breakfast, coffee was good though. Spent day with private driver who took us to the forbidden city, golden palace, and Tiananmen Square. Hotel provided free... More

Had a short stay at Airline expense after Beijing - Sydney flight was cancelled without notice or explanation.. Arrived with about 200 fellow travellers and were booked in with great efficiency and a smile from front of house receptionists who directed us to our rooms which were easily identified and were spacious and well equipped. House staff arrived unexpectedly and... More

If you are staying here, and are a Western visitor, you probably missed your connection in Beijing. As distressed passenger hotels go, this one is fine. Air China paid for the hotel, which is more than many domestic American airlines would do for a weather related delay. We arrived late at night, around 11:30 PM, after a long day filled... More

I ended up at this hotel because my connecting Air China flight was cancelled, leaving me in Beijing overnight. I asked at the airport Air China desk whether I could stay at the nearby Hilton, and they said yes. I was then taken to a hotel shuttle with several other people. I asked the person escorting me whether this was... More

There are at least four Phoenix Hotels in Beijing DON’T get the wrong one! This is the worst example of the airport hotel genre that I have experienced in quite a few years. With the sole exception of my waitress in the restaurant (who was sweet), the hotel staff were rude and unhelpful. I speak enough Chinese to get around,... More

My flight from NYC was 20 minutes late and due to the Chinese custom of making travelers leave the secured area to go through customs before connecting to other flights, there was no way to get to the next plane before boarding was closed. Soooooo, I was stuck in Beijing until I could get to Bangkok. The hotel, while very... More

Tokyo to JFK connection missed so Air China shuttled us here for the night. Clean, adequate, decent food and service. Convenient to nothing other than the airport. In order to see Beijing, this is not the place.

My family was in transit from Houston to Guangzhou and spent 1 night at the Golden Phoenix Hotel. The staff were very nice, the room clean and comfortable, the breakfast was good, the shuttle to/ from the airport prompt. So good that we tried to again book here for our return to the U.S. but alas no room available. We... More
