Staying in Beijing was made wonderful by staying in this cosy hostel. I don't enjoy large cities, but Beijing is a must-visit on any first trip to China because of the important cultural and historical attractions. PYH is located in one of the busier Hutongs (right on the corner of Nanluoguxiang and Yu'er). This is a lively spot all day/night... More

this is not a review of the hostel. But rather a review of the great wall expedition offered by the hostel. whatever you do, do NOT take it. in a bus load of people, every single person was utterly disappointed with the company. the tour guide was abominable, shared incorrect information about the wall which severely impacted how much of... Overlooking the walking market this rooftop space is awesome here on a warm May evening. They feature an extensive list of food, drinks, cocktails and beer. Plus quite a selection of deserts. The 2nd and 1st floors look like great places to hang out as well.

This is the best hostel in Beijing! Full of life, always warm, rooms are clean and quiet, in a fantastic area and has great service. Restaurant is heavily westernised and on the more expensive side, but is delicious. Head outside turn left and follow the walking street aprox 400m until you see a Buddha, enter this alley and find a... More

Absolutely great! Location was right on a bustling alley filled with food stalls, bars and shops and 3 minute walk from metro stop so super easy to get around Beijing. Hostel staff were super nice and helpful. Delicious cafe, very cheap and beautifully decorated with masses of flowers! Nice clean rooms. I had a brilliant stay here.

This place is absolutely lovely with clean dorms and bathrooms/showers, actual common areas, best bed I've slept in in China and great and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend it to someone not on a very tight budget. This since you kind of get what you pay for and this place is probably the most expensive one I've stayed in... More

The staff were very helpful and spoke good english. The room was basic but clean, quite and comfortable. The attached restaurant was good and there was also a roof top terrace, though it was a little chilly to sit out much in March. More atmosphere than a regular hotel and right in the middle of an interesting hutong. Also close... More

This hostel leaves other hotels (and many hostels) slouching in its wake - the rooms were spotless, and stylishly decorated, and in a building in one of the old hutongs. There's a rooftop bar/terrace, a cosy lounge area for guests, and a cafe that did a really tasty breakfast. Laundry was cheap and quickly done, and there was lots of... More

If character is what you're after, then Peking is for you. The hostel is located on Nanluogu, in one of Beijing's most charming and popular "hutongs" (the city's iconic alleyway networks). The hostel is a quick 5 minute walk to the subway, or a 30 minute walk to some of Beijing's must-see landmarks (The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, etc). Cabs... More
