Hutongren Courtyard Hotel boasts a fantastic location in the heart of the hutongs just off Nanluoguxiang Road. The area is lovely to wander around with a great atmosphere and all sorts of shops, stalls, restaurants, cafes etc. to enjoy. It is within easy walking distance of the drum and bell towers as well as Hou Hai. The hotel itself is... More

We stayed here in early spring 2014 and had booked the tatami-style room "Birdsong". Event though we only had a small window to the "Living room" of the Hotel and the room was barely large enough fort us and our luggage, we relly enjoyed our stay. The hutongs are filled with life and the hotel is an oasis to find... More

I always like Nan Luo Gu Xiang when I first visit it in 2007, often fancy to stay in a Hutong. Given the improved situation of the neighborhood and many renovation of the old hutong, staying here “ Hutongren Courtyard hotel” gave me the most enjoyable experience ever. B&B here keeps the original form of the house, but with modernized... More

A clean, delicate, yet cheap accomodation right near the animated hutongs in the Northern part of the old mandchu city of Beijing. Bedding was uncostumarily confortable for China, the shower and heating were perfectly adjustable, and staff is veery friendly. On a warm and/or sunny weekend, the terrace oveerlooking the old rooftops is also restful. Only drawback: walls (whether interior... More

Dear Guilld, Thank you very much for your nice words. Yes! The custom-made Kingkoil mattresses are exactly the same with Westin Heavenly-bed Mattresses, and is super comfortable! We're sorry of the thin-wall and the noises. Hutongren was renovated from an old Courtyard house and we couldn't reconstruct all the walls and houses for the construction reasons, so some guests would... More

We arrived in Beijing from Shanghai by train and from the main station took about 1.5 hours to reach our hotel... Beijing traffic is terrible... But once we arrived at the courtyard hotel we were pleasantly surprised by the coziness of this location. This small boutique hotel is tucked away in a back ally hidden among a river of buildings.... Great location, friendly staff, sweet dog, but way overpriced... Arrived to a cold room (10 degree Celsius) after 6 hours the heat became 18 degree. No internet in room, had to go to the lobby were there was no heat, to access internet. No English speaking staff when we arrived, if my wife hadn't spoken Chinese, I don't know what... More

We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed it. The location is right in the middle of popular Nanluoguxiang shopping, restaurant and street-food area and very historical. Beijing groove-central. The staff were friendly and competent, good English speakers too. It is a very small quiet place - maybe 5 rooms total, all at ground level in a converted traditional hutong courtyard... More

Dear Gordon, Thanks for your review. Yes the tariff is high here because of the rent is really high here. Hutongren Located in the most expensive place in Beijing so we pay a lot for the rent every year, that is one of the reason why it is very expensive. Another reason is, the custom furniture and bedding are very... More

For 2 nights in Dec, I stayed in the single room that was next to the small street leading to the hotel. The room was surprisingly quiet at night but it could be because of the less human traffic in winter. The room was very well-kept, and clean, and the staff were friendly. The hotel is about 5-8 mins walk... More
