This "hotel" is situated in a secondary hutong, which is a rather small and dusty alley. Some call it the old town. Some call it slums. One thing is true: this place is as authentic as they come. Normally, stay away from big name hotels in favor of family owned small inns, which is what I did this time in... More

We really enjoyed the experience here, not only at the hotel but deep in the Baochao Hutong neighborhood, where people and pets were friendly and some really good tiny restaurants are nearby. Staff is excellent, rooms perfectly adequate and clean. Getting to the subway requires a walk through lanes that are quite dark at night, but perfectly safe. High-speed internet,... More

A friend and I stayed here for our first four days in Beijing. Friendly staff, clean and homey. It has that 'local' edge of being in the middle of the Hutong. Staff had great knowledge of places to go, and spoke quite good English. Just make sure that you get a room that is not on the front part of... More

Found the staff very friendly with good English. Helped us with onward travel as well as local sight seeing. Very close to Guloudajie station on the No 2 subway line, 10 min walk. Rooms quaint and clean and serviced daily. Plumbing dodgy as in all Hutongs. They really do have high speed internet available to use.Lovely relaxing courtyards to sit and... More

The reviews are all accurate, and I recommend this hotel. Its small and stylish, and in a charming neighborhood. There are english speaking staff and western breakfasts if wanted, although we went out for dumplings. The neighborhood is full of restaurants, and our taxi driver took us there from the airport. But you do everyone a favor if you get... More

We stayed in this courtyard hotel for just under a week on our first visit to China. Good sized ensuite room, hostel prices. Breakfast is not worth it, though - pop down the road to Mr Shi's dumpling house where you can get fresh juice and a variety of food.

Hutongs used to be tradicional neighbourhoods with communal houses, with families sharing interior gardens. Many of them turned into nice familiar hotels, and Citycourt is one of kind (actually its name is Beijing City Courtyard Hotel, ok?). Just about 10 bedroom, no breakfast included, wifi complimentary, very nice prices, about US$ 40 for a twin (in the net). Cable tv, good... More

Convenient location, giant length bed(!) in the single room. Comfortable ensuite room and pleasant courtyard setting. Situated in the hutongs, very nice area to stay in for a holiday. Hot shower, but limited so don't take too long in the shower! Unfortunately had a couple of surprises, such as the night porter making us pay for the rooms when we... More

My husband and I visited my family for 2 weeks in October and booked all 13 nights in Citycourt Hotel. The hotel is very safe with 24 hour front desk staff. They lock the front doors after a certain hour, 2am maybe, but there are always staff to answer the door bell. Our room had its own card access door.... More
