The hotel has a great courtyard on the first floor where you can spend your time with a book and a drink. The location is amazing although it can get pretty lonely at night. The complimentary breakfast is good until you spot the cockroaches! The room was not clean, the floor has a layer of dust permanently attached to it.... More

With due respect we honor all our customers and their reviews about us. find Some response to areas reviewed in this review Below; Loneliness at night : we are surrounded by Financial Institutions, Banks, Foreign Exchange Bureaus, Offices, Police Line, County government administration etc so at night the movement is quite less as compared to Business working hours. The hotel is clean and quite comfortable. There is AC in the room and free wifi in the hotel. The breakfast was simply but really good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It's really close to the old town and the fort Jesus. Good value for the price.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in March 2014. This very basic hotel is situated in Mombasa downtown (Mombasa Island), about 20 minutes walk from the Fort Jesus. Good things about this hotel: (1) downtown location; (2) relatively low price; (3) water availability 24/24; (4) air conditioning (very noisy but also much needed). Bad and very bad things:... More

I stayed for three nights in this hotel, and I was very satisfied with my stay. By Kenyan standards the price is good value - the staff are very helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean, and the location is great. There is a cafe, some computers for internet use, and good Wifi on the roof terrace. I definitely recommend... More

Let me start by saying I've stayed in much worse places over the 17 years I've been traveling in Africa. However, for a place that does online check in and gets some very good reviews on tripadvisor, this place was a disappointment. Rooms were very run down, my toilet was not flushing and it took a long time for the... More

I've stayed in Mombasa a few times - always on a budget - and this is the best of the budget hotels i have seen. The staff were great, really helpful, full of sensible advice re security etc and know the town and what its mix of international travellers want. Staying here in the old town helps you to have... My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night before returning to Nairobi as it was close to where our bus left (Crown Bus stop on Moi Road) so was very convenient for us. The room and bathroom was very clean, had a decent mosquito net, air con (with restricted usage times due to energy saving) and a fan. The... More

This place has history. It's one of the few remaining colonial era hotels on Mombasa island! close to the old town and Fort Jesus. They did some sort of makeover some years ago, with all rooms now having air conditioning and TVs. While the AC work don't bother about the TVs - the few times I stayed there they had... More

Lets start off with the pros. The AC worked, the internet worked and the hot water worked. All good things. The location is pretty nice too. But the whole place is run down, shabby furnishings throughout and dirty. I realize that the price is low and for that I don't expect luxury. But a fresh coat of paint would go... More

Well situated as close to the old town and Fortress. Nice old architecture that is located in the heart of Mombasawith restaurant and cafe. Hotel can be booked online. Rooms are simple but clean with air condition and mosquito nets. Staff is friendly and helpful. Good meeting place.
