If you want to just relax and not be boggled trying to enjoy the many facilities of a modern hotel. This us the place to be. Its far from being a 5 star but not that they want to try. They dont want to and honestly I hope they dont try. Simple lifestyle, you define your own holiday and not... More

Twiga Lodge comprises of the the old & famous Tiwi Beach camping site and the newish built hotel itself. We camped. The camp site and bar buildings date way back to the sixties when it was a famous stopover for the over-lander trucks travelling across Africa. The camp site offer great views of the ideal beach - white sands, aquamarine... More

I camped out with friends and i can say it was a good experience. Loved the location but i think the washrooms can do with some repair. Some doors could not be locked. Other than that it was an amazing camping experience.

Backpacked with a couple of friends all the way down to Tiwi. The first thing that caught my eye was the beachfront camping. The caretaker of the lodge was really friendly and helpful. There are tonnes of adventures waiting to be had, and for a reasonable price the locals can take you to dives, sea caves and quiet starfish gardens.... More

We stayed here for 2 nights, and were smitten by the quiet beach front location, as the photos suggest. We stayed in a twin room, balcony overlooking the sea, had cold beers from the bar.. Which were the (equally) cheapest beer we had here. Margaret and the staff were attentive, fish meals were excellent too. She also helped out with... More

This place was recommended to me by a local dive centre owner as an alternative to the all inclusive hotels in the area. It slightly off the beaten track but is in a fabulous location by the beach. The view from my balcony was idyllic. The hotel is owned by a very nice lady, Margaret, who purchased it from it's... More

I was astounded to find this place on Trip Advisor. The last time I stayed there was 1980, and sorry trip advisor did not have a date that old for me to select.. This was a not well known among the genteel tourist crowd, but it had an almost mystical word of mouth status as an, exotic hangout for backpackers,... More

Stayed on the campsite with my own overland truck for three months and loved the place. Played cast away on a diet of fish and coco nuts.Swimming and looking for sea shells. Reading books.Love the place because there is nothing.

This campsite has the most idyllic setting on a piece of untouched paradise. Complete peace and quiet and such nice friendly locals. It has basic facilities which consist of toilets, showers, bar and restaurant. What more does one need? Just pitch your tent (or VW camper in our case) and relax and enjoy the daily comings and goings of the... More

The best thing about the twiga is the location. Beach is the most beautiful and quiet. Perfect place to relax. Prices of the rooms are too high copared to their quality. Towels were very dirty and in the shower water came really slow. We stayed both budget room and superior room. Buget room was 3000 ksh and the superior (included... More
