I have stayed there at least three times in the past three years. The hotel is not far from town and you can get there by tuk tuk for sh100. The lane is amazingly quiet. I like the covered verandah facing the quiet lane where you can sip your drink as you while away the evening. It IS a budget... More

A part of the hall and the reception (medium to high standard hotels style), the rest of the characteristics of tris old fashioned accommodation are that of a low budget hotel. Actually some hostels and guest houses in town can offer bigger and better furnished rooms. The positive point is the bar area, a funny environment where you can meet... More

I stayed at Lotus for one night last October 2011. This hotel is very basic. The room and bedding were very clean. There was a new mattress in my room which was great. I did see a small coackroach in the bathroom, but the vents in the bathroom face the outside and so it is easy for any kind of... More

I left the hotel after the first night. Close to Mombasa travel attraction. I paid $35 a night. But i didn't feel safe in the hotel therefore decided to move after the first night. The hotel in on quiet street and that make it very difficult to get taxi to tuktuk at night.

The staff was friendly and the rooms were quiet. Furnishings were basic and a bit tired, but adequate. Breakfast was good. The location was excellant -- close to all attractions, but on a quiet back street. This hotel represents excellent value for the budget traveller.

I was in Mombasa and stayed at the Hotel for two nights. The location was great - near Fort Jesus, and near the financial district. It provided the flexibility of touring Fort Jesus and seeing Old town Mombasa in the afternoon after walking through town and the financial district in the morning. The outside bar was great for catching up... More

The hotel is nothing spectacular, but the rooms are clean and quiet. The restaurant is good, but the breakfast is nothing special. During ramadan you may be woken by the mosque located across the street.
