This was my second visit to the camp, and I was again impressed by the simplicity and authenticity of the whole safari experience. The location is amazing - bordering the Masai Mara in a private concession so you have the best of the Masai Mara and the best of a private reserve. A rock is all that indicates you are... More

Having been on safari on a number of previous occasions, I was indifferent about going once again. I was however pleasantly surprised at how authentic this safari experience was, and made this trip a lot more distinctive than my past trips to the Mara at different camps. The tents at the Lion camp are extremely spacious and modern with eco-friendly... More

Wanted to write about it for a long time, but got no time. In short, this is the place that you should stay! Doing this review is difficult. As in many reviews, it is hard to compare it with others as most people just travel there once, and so got no chance to stay in other places and compare. More... More

My husband and I came to Kenya for the first time and stayed at the Porini Lion and Amboseli camps on recommendation from our travel agency. At the Lion camp, our first stop, the accomodations were not at all what I expected, our tent was fantastic. Yes, it was a tent, but with lots of comforts. It was clean, comfortable,... More

This camp concluded our Porini safari trip to Kenya. I think the main difference of the Mara to the other places we had been on the trip was the sheer numbers of game especially the Wildebeest. We didn't manage to see a crossing but did see them all gathering. We saw lots of Lion action and cheetahs but sadly no... More

Top marks for everything. Great camp, wonderful guides (team Jackson!), fantastice game sightings (the Moniko lion pride in all it's glory). Tents are just a little bigger and brighter than at Mara Porini and the conservancy is just a little better located. Short rain season proved to be wetter than normal which restricted us a little, but an unbeatable experience... More

This was an absolutely amazing experience. The guides were incredibly knowledgable and we had the most amazing viewing of wildlife including very close encounters with leopards, lions and a cheetah, with lots of behaviour to observe. The camp is extremely comfortable yet you still get the feeling you are out in the wilds as animals are free to roam around... More

We are the lucky that we can go back to the place where we had unbelievable moments every day! Last January we have been to the Mara for only five days, but it seemed to me longer for us. We amazed, admired and were full of gratitude all day long when we had our walks and drives through that great... More

We went to the Porini Lion camp only (out of all the camps that Jake operates), and I could not find one thing to complain about. The logistics, staff, safari rides, accommodation, safety, foods were all excellent. Best of the best. This is also a much better way to experience the Safari as it is without the large crowds of... We have just returned from our 8th trip in 9 years at Gamewatchers camps; this time we stayed at Selankay (Amboseli) and Porini Lion Camp adjacent to the Mara. The conservancy in which Selenkay is situated has lots of game aroung it - even lion patrolling the immediate area to the camp. The conservancy where Lion Camp is located has... More
