My Partner and I stayed at the Mara Explora camp for three nights and we wish we had booked our entire two week holiday there. Paul, the Manager made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and this great service continued with and every member of the team at Mara Explora. From the game drives, arranging Breakfast on the... more

We spent the first four nights of our honeymoon at Mara Explorer, before we left having not been on Safari before we really didn’t know what to expect. We couldn’t believe our luck when we arrived; the location and standard of the accommodation was superb. Marianna and her team do an exceptional job to ensure everyone has a fantastic holiday.... more

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon. We arrived here from Samburu, and the experience that we had was just fantastic. From the moment that we arrived to the time that we left we were made to feel as we were the most important people in the world. The tents were really luxurious, the... more

Mara Explorer was fabulous. Great service. Everyone was very friendly. Where do you find a chef going out of the way and preparing meals to cater to your food allergies. The tents were luxurious. Lying down in bed and hearing lions roaring and hippos snorting ... different world all together. Imagine having lunch on the deck and watching hippos sunbathe.... more

We stayed at the Explorer as part 2 of our honeymoon and we were blown away. We arrived from Meru and originally thought we couldn't possibly beat where we'd stayed there (Elsa's Kopje) but we tried to keep an open mind. We landed and were taken straight out on a game drive while our bags were taken back to the... more

Although we had done safaris before in different areas of Africa, this was our first to Kenya, and first time staying in a tented camp. Would we do it this way again, sure would. It was absolutely fantastic, best yet.. 10 individual tents, all very private and facing the Talek River. Large king size bed, all the necessary amenities you... more

It was our first trip to Kenya and we certainly wont forget it. This camp is 10 luxury tents, each with its own private veranda overlooking the Talek River. We'd come down from Samburu and we wondered if this camp would be as good. What can I say, it was so much more than we had ever expected. Everything from... more

Our trip to Kenya in July, was our 7th and final continent, having previously ventured as far South as Antartica, during our world travels in 2006. Our trip to Kenya, was our Honeymoon, & our trip to Kenya, wouldn't have been what it was, had we not visited the Mara Explorer in the Masai Mara. We wanted an intimate &... more

What was wonderful about Explorer Camp? Being greeted by a family of hippos on the sand bank in front of our tent on arrival. Having a luxurious bubble bath on the veranda at dusk watching two elephants feeding on the opposite bank, then waking in the middle of the night to watch the same elephants feeding right outside our tent.... more

We spent 4 nights at the Mara explorer camp and can't praise it enough. This was our first safari to Kenya and wern't to sure what to expect. If you want lively night life, swimming pools and all the "normal" tourist trappings then don't come here. If however you want first class service in a fantastic location look no further.... more
