Very nice, comfortable and friendly place as 'basic camp' for your game trips. Close to the airstrip. Great food, very tastefull dinner. Good introduction to the Kenyan Masai Culture. Tented rooms were like 'normal' hotelrooms, clean, nice and efficient.

Loved the atmosphere - a combination of sophistication mixed with the wild side of Africa. Staff remember your name from the first meeting. Staff show interest in how your day is unfolding and all the exciting animal sightings. The wait staff in the dinning room and lounge were efficient. The best of all was the Safari driver who made certain... More

I celebrated my birthday at the Mara Explorer Camp in August 2013. Of all the parks I have been to, none beats the Masai Mara. Beyond the splendor the park offers, the Mara Explorer Camp does an exceptional job of making you one with nature. From the people, to the tents, to the food, to the environment... it all adds... Full Course Meals and big safaris. We did this for 4 days and 3 nights. I can't say how much we enjoyed our stay, We went during the low season and had a wonderful time exploring the Mara and staying at the camp. George was the camp manager and was responsive and talked to us each day. We had the... More

If you ever dreamed of living right in the middle of the Zebra, Elephants and (according to the Maasai) the Lions in basic camp conditions this is most likely not what you wanted. It is the same experience - the camp is really in the middle of nature - but they have really tried to add a flair of luxury.... More

We stayed at 4 lodges/camps on our safari to East Africa and hands down the greatest place we stayed was Mara Explorer. The staff is amazingly helpful and friendly and the food and wine outstanding. Our server for meals Maureen was absolutely wonderful!! The camp location on the river is the best we experienced and we were lucky enough to... More

Staying at the Mara Explorer Camp is like having 2 completely different, but amazing, experiences in 1 trip! We went for our honeymoon and believe it was the best trip we could have ever taken. We didn't stop talking about wanting to return with our future children in a few years! On the one hand, there is the mind-blowing experience... More
