My friends and family had the most wonderful stay at this camp in the Masai Mara. I should have wrote this review a while ago since our stay was in July but it was truly one of the best trips we have ever had. The accommodations were great even though we had a tent, it was luxury all the way.... More

We stayed at mara explorer just over two weeks ago for our honeymoon, we did three nights four day Safari. We were greeted at the air strip by our guide Joseph, the camp is five minutes from the strip and a great location in to the reserve. The staff at camp were fantastic, camp manager Maurice welcomed us with a... More

Only 3km outside the Sekenani Gate, Mara Explorers offers varying levels of tented camping. Moses does an excellent job maintaining a hip social lounge at the reception center, which is themed after traditoinal Maasai clothing. Wifi available. Delicious family style dinners are prepared every night, so long as you give them a half day’s heads up, and will feel like... More

Wow...where to begin. My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights. She had been on 9 other safaris and this was my first. Definitely go to the Masai Mara for a Safari and if it is available you must stay at the Mara Explorer Camp. James was our concierge and he could not have been more accommodating. Seriously he... My wife and I stayed here for three nights with my parents, and all four of us remarked what a fantastic vacation it was. Mara Explorers is a luxurious yet relatively small camp, which means the staff know you by name. The service was absolutely top-notch. Maurice, Noor, Tatiana, Mary, Maleto, Simon, chef Shadrach, and our excellent guide, Katembo, took... More

My husband and I first visited Mara Explorer in 2012 and knew we needed to return - it was a dream vacation and one of the most interesting, spectacular experiences of our lives. We returned in November 2015 with parents in tow, and it offered the same top-notch service, comfort and luxury, and adventure we remembered. The park is the... More

Delightful place is the Masai Mara, the reserve which has superb views across the savannah with only the odd lone tree to break the horizon. Derek my driver and guide was magical with his knowledge of birds, although we did spot one he did not get right, a life for both of us, a Cardinal Quelea. In three days we... More
