My two sons (ages 11 and 13) and I stayed at the Serian Lodge as our last stop at the end of an incredible safari. It was the perfect place to end our magical adventure because the Serian was definitely the best in a group of fabulous lodges. The tent, the food, the staff and the grounds were spectacular. The... Could not be happier with Serian! First family trip to Kenya with two boys ages 9 and 11. We knew the accommodation and guides were key to the success of this trip and Serian nailed it. The living quarters are spacious and comfortable and the view from the bathtub mesmerising. The food was beautiful (you get a lot of it... More

We had a fantastic three nights stay at Serian in the Masai Mara. I cannot praise the staff enough for their attention to detail and unobtrusive service, my kids loved the informality and sense of fun the stuff imparted. They took to the guides immediately who were knowledgeable and great fun, good with children and adults alike; their driving is... More

I absolutely LOVE Serian camp. I stayed there in 2012 and in 2013. And I'm planning on visiting again in 2015. There is plenty of delicious food and anything you'd like to drink. And, of course, the wildlife is amazing. But a huge part of what makes this such a wonderful place is the staff. Everyone -- the tent porters,... More

I just spent two nights at Serian and had a magical time. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Food was good and accommodation very comfortable and what a wonderful location, could have easily spent two weeks there. Our driver and guide two wonderful people who knew everything and a bit more. Sadly they couldn't find us a leopard... More

I frequently use Nkorombo, it's a luxury tented camp located on the banks of the Mara river, yet tucked away from all the hustle and bustle. It's private, the staff are absolutely amazing and pay attention to every single little detail. Nkorombo gives you the sensation of being right in the thick of the bush. From the mess tent I've... We found the tented accommodation just not comfortable or practical. Two low power bedside lights left the room gloomy in the extreme, there was nowhere to store cases and little storage space for clothes. The outside bathroom was down six uneven twisting steps with a poorly positioned hand rail and suffered the same lack of lighting, only two LED lights... More

Thanks so much to Berdewelle for her fantastic comments on their Serian experience. We’re enormously proud to have received the runner-up award for Best Guides in the Good Safari Guide award, and it’s great to hear that the delicious food and incredible game-viewing continue to delight. We take our feedback very seriously, and we were sorry to hear you felt... More

Just back from Nkorombo mobile camp & we have had the holiday of a life time. The 2 key factors to this phenomenal holiday were our guide Warren Samuels (www.wildvisionadventures.com) & the team at the camp, lead by Tanya. Warren turned a great holiday into an exceptional holiday. He is a wildlife cameraman (BBC big cat diary) & has a... More

Just got back form a safari in Kenya that spanned four parks and 6 different lodges. Serian was by far the best. The camp had beautifully spacious tents overlooking the river, the food was the best we had anywhere, and the camp manager was a lovely hostess who bent over backwards to accommodated all our special requests for meals, bush... I arrived at Serian Camp on 4th August having driven there with Jordan and Makela from Nkorombo Camp which is Serian's mobile camp on the banks of the Mara river in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. I could not fault this wonderful place from the moment I arrived and was warmly greeted by Roisin, the Manager and William and Simon.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A traditional bush camp most suited to adventurous outdoors characters in search of a real experience. "Serian" means peaceful, calm or serene in the Maa language. An artists haven and one of the most picturesque sites in the Mara. Located in the heart of the Mara North Conservancy "Serian" operates throughout the year. A traditional tented camp focusing on quality game viewing and providing clients access to some of the very best game viewing in Africa. The migration of wildebeest occurs from June through October and sometimes November, quickly followed by the birthing season from October to March. April May & June offer opportunities for ornithologists and those who enjoy the solitude of the quiet season. Serian guarantees exclusive use of vehicle at no extra cost. This is the key to a quality experience and not a shared compromise. The Nest is a tree house perfect for a picnic after a bush walk in the private conservancy, where guests can also spend the night in the two oval double beds and watch nocturnal game on the infra-red cameras! ... more   less
