The Porini Mara Camp is located in the Ol Kinyei conservancy. It is all the beauty and wildlife of the Mara (with a higher concentration of big cats than the national park) without the crowds. We spent three nights in the camp and had an incredible time. Two days were in the conservancy and one was in the national park,... More

This is a great way to experience an African Safari. You stay in a spacious tent that really doesn't seem like a tent. There are 2 beds, 1 single and 1 queen. You get a desk and a place to hang some clothes. The bathroom is very good for a 'tent'. The food was good. If you don't like what... More

This was our 2nd visit to Porini Mara Camp. The main reason we returned - the private location on a relatively small and intimate conservancy with abundant wildlife. Rather than playing bumper-cars with the multitude of white mini-vans on the Masai Mara National Reserve, you have a conservancy that is used only by the guests of the Porini camps. During... More

After spending three wonderful days at the Porini Selenkay camp reviewed in detail already, the same overall impression applies to the arrangements at the Mara camp. I moved to Ol Kinyei for a four night stay. This Porini camp is bounded by a river and I had views of game through the bushes and trees. There is a wonderful mixture... More

This was our first visit to the mara camp although we have been to the others before.I would say this camp is in a fantastic location and as with all porini camps the service and friendly staff make for a great stay. Wilson our guide did a great job showing us all the wildlife of Ol Kinyei. We never saw another... More

I went to the Mara 14 years ago and then there were a lot less lodges and vehicles - now there are just too many and you sense the animals are hounded. In fact we met a cheetah researcher there who had closed off an area to a mum with 6 cubs as otherwise she couldn't hunt for them with... More

This was the second Porini camp we stayed at and sadly only stayed there for one night! (we first stayed at Porini Rhino and then went onto Lion afterwards.) I would definitely stay here for longer next time. Porini camps offer you a certain level of luxury whilst camping in the wild. The camp has six tents set on a... More

Located in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, it feels as though you are on your own private game reserve. Tents are spacious, best comfortable and toiletries, a torch and water provided. The staff here really care for you - I had some brilliant conversations with the food and beverage manager and could tell that he was interested in what I was saying... More

I can't say enough good things about Gamewatchers! I traveled alone to Kenya in December of 2012 and would jump at the chance to do it again. I chose Gamewatchers because of their commitment to the environment and working with indigenous tribes. Their camps are very Eco-conscious, leased from the local Massai people and staffed by the Massai as well.... More

We tend to be conservative in destination selection for vacations, so to make plans for an Africa Safari was a little stretch for us. We are so glad that we made this one of out top bucket list destinations. I did lots of research prior to the trip to try to narrow down where to go. There is obviously lots... More
