We spent two nights at Porini Mara in early June. As it was early in the season, we were the only guests. What a place! The concentration of wildlife around Porini Mara is astonishing, and the benefit of the conservancy is that there are no other safari vehicles around - you have the huge and amazing place to yourself. We... More

It's been a really long time since I've slept this well, taken in so much fresh air and wonderful views of our country's unique wildlife and awesome landscapes. Add on the delicious meals and sundowners, blazing campfire and insightful conversations with the likes of Jackson Liaram - our guide - and Jimmy the camp manager, and it's a delightful assault... My husband and I planned a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Africa, but it has been so fabulous that we hope to return with family and friends. Friends recommended Gamewatchers Safaris because they operate first-class full-service safaris at a reasonable cost. Gamewatchers operates Porini (“in the wild” in Swahili) Camps where we stayed for eight nights. The Gamewatchers safari experience is superb... More

Spent two nights (June 2 & 3, 2015) at Porini Mara in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy -- booked through Julie Roggow (Gamewatchers Safaris), very knowledgable and helpful with great communication leading right up to the trip. Everything went smoothly from pick-up at hotel in Nairobi to flight departure from Wilson airport and pick-up at Ol Seki air strip, to arrival... More

This was our first safari and we had very few expectations (I try to avoid getting my hopes up!) but Porini Mara Camp was absolutely out of this world. The 'tents' complete with a flushing toilet are beautifully presented and the food was delicious. The highlight of Porini Mara however was the staff. Everyone who works there is so friendly... More

My extended family of ten, ranging from ages 6 to 70, visited four Porini Camps: Amboseli, Rhino, Mara, and Lion. Every aspect of Porini - the cultural experience, game drives/wildlife, accommodations, service, food - was stellar, and I'm convinced is totally unique from any other safari experience. Porini's model is rooted in environmental and social responsibility and partnerships with local... More

Last week I visited the Porini Mara Camp for a three night stay. I stayed here many moons ago and was hoping it would be as I had remembered. It was, and possibly, even better. The camp is run extremely well by Jimmy and as the only guest I was looked after very well. Stanley and Bill did an excellent... More

What a gem of a conservancy is Ol Kinyeyi! And the Porini Mara Camp makes for an excellent base from which to experience the conservancy. There are just six tents- all well located by a seasonal stream and the staff fall over themselves to fuss over you. Like at all the Porini camps, the focus is on the game drives... More
