A unique experience on the edge of the river in the heart of the Maassai Mara. The tents were comfortable, clean, and attractive. The camp is located about 10 minutes from the wildebeest migration. Animals galore are available for the viewing. The staff was very helpful, and the grounds were well cared for. A not to be missed experience.

Once-in-a-lifetime experience for our family (four teenagers, one grandparent in 80s). Tent accommodations were delightful and comfortable, especially the marble-clad bathrooms. Photo safaris were great, with friendly and knowledgeable guides and great vehicles. Food was as good as it gets considering location. Don't give up on the Masai Mara - go visit!

Stayed in the tented accommodations which was beautiful. Each tent is attached to its own goid sized en suite bathroom containing shower, toilet and sink area. The tent area was equipped with a queen and a double bed. Beautiful furniture and bed coverings. It felt like a beautiful hotel room but that the fresh air could spill into the space... More

We were scheduled to spend a couple of days at Keekorok lodge but were moved to Fig Tree at the last minute because the government requisitioned Keekorok for a meeting. We enjoyed staying in the tents, which are right on the river. We could hear the hippos frolicking at night outside our tent. The food was fine with good variety.... More

We did not stay at the camp but it looked beautiful. We took a sunrise balloon safari through the Fig Tree Camp. I was hesitant to take the flight as it was expensive ($420 pp). However, it was worth it. The views from the balloon were fantastic. It was so peaceful. Captain Ray did a great job of finding animals.... More

We stayed here for 3 nights, arranged by Hamisi at Ringo safaris, which meant that our game drives were organised by the hotel and used their staff. Dominic, our masai moran and Sammy, the driver, were excellent. They were informative, knowledgable, keen and friendly - a pleasure to meet. The 4x4 was good, and other than 2 game drives, we... Spending 4 nights at fig tree camp we can only sing the praises of the camp, its manager and its staff. Our main reason for visiting the mara was to see the animals of the area in their natural environment , this we achieved with the expertise of our fantastic driver and guide, Nicson and Sammi. We cannot praise them enough... More

Most of reviews are so good. However we did not feel that way. You can stay at Figtree if you are visiting first time to Maasai Mara and want to experience old African bush style. There is a huge beehive (about H 2m x w 1m) near the tent. River is right front of your tent and are able to... More
