Africa was not my dream-destination. But after 1 day in Nairobi, went the Saruni Mara which was suggested by friends living in Kenya. I can highly recommend this place for everyone working in hospitality industry in Europe or US. I am sure they are the best in their profession but even in this case they would be able to learn... This is one of the best reviews that we have had and I'm going to explain why: normally all our guests are overwhelmed by the beauty of Africa, the kindness and intelligence of the masai, the vast open spaces, the style of the lodge and the quality of the safari experience they have with us. It is so incredible that... More

My husband and I have been on more safaris than we can count – him for over 30 years and me for over 16. Simply put, NOTHING compares to our experiences at Saruni Mara. This was the most magical and overwhelmingly stunning safari that we have had including many game drives in Kenya and South Africa. Before selecting Saruni Mara,... More

So I reviewed Saruni Mara back in Oct 2013, and said there i was already planning my next trip back...and the call of Saruni Mara meant my 2nd trip in less than 6 months. That in itself speaks for itself. So I obviously went with very high expectations, and as I'd raved about it, my parents joined me along with... More

Thank you very much for such a detailed and enthusiastic review. I'm especially glad that you enjoyed the bush dinner: I personally always felt that meals in the bush can be the highlight of the safari experience. And thank you for coming back only six months after your first visit! The small number of vehicles you saw i the result... More

The plane bumped down on the landing strip and we taxied to the 'main terminal' - basically a modest hut. We were greeted by the beaming smile of John who would be our guide for the next 4 days. Rain had come to the Mara and it was so green and luscious compared with the baking red soil of Samburu.... More

My friend and I recently stayed at Saruni and it was brilliant. The accommodation and setting are breath taking. The apartments are literally built into a rock escarpment and are incredible. All look out across the vast beautiful expanse of the samburu region. It was like nothing we had stayed in before. Our guide was called Francis and he was... More

It's from the same Saruni chain. Location, decoration, staff, service everything is just perfect. Rooms, especially the family suit is a big wow; very large two rooms opening to a wide living room with a fireplace. If you request, they light every night. It has a large terrace with a perfect view of mountains. Green is everywhere... Rangers are very... More

Saruni Mara, managed by Chelsea and Raymond, is a wonderful safari camp with gorgeous views from the deck of every room. The food is excellent; the ambience extremely pleasant, with drinks and good conversation each evening in front of the fire. The staff are welcoming and attentive. Many thanks for these fantastic words and for your very positive review. And I agree with you: meeting an eland - normally a very shy animal - from such a close up is really an experience. I have passed your words to Raymond and Chelsea who say hello and look forward to have you back one day. More

Unbelievable experience from start to finish that was truly once-in-a-lifetime. We spent 5 nights at Saruni as part of a 10-day trip to Kenya in late December, including New Year's Eve, and couldn't have been happier. Over the course of about 3 and 1/2 days we practically saw everything up close: lions, elephants, hippos, rhinos, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes---the big 5... More
