African Safari Club promises when you visit Mara Buffalo camp as part of their safari tours that you'll be seeing animals in the "world famous Mara reserve". Well, don';t be fooled! We flew to Mara Simba Buffalo Camp on 24th January 2007 from Bamburi Airstip, near Mombasa in a 2-engined, 18-seater plane for two hours. During the flight we had wonderful views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the large soda lake Lake Magardi, the Great Rift Valley and the Masai Mara before landing on the local airstrip. We stayed in Mombasa and flew to the Masai Mara for a two night safari. The trip up was fine and we were greated by the manager who told us of our schedule for that day. The room was clean and the bathroom equipment although very, very old, working. The staff were very friendly and the food (excluding the packed... More
