Just stayed for 2 nights at this Fabulous Resort. My only complaint is that it wasn't longer and I wasn't able to take part in all the amenities. The staff go above and beyond. The rolling Mara River makes you forget your cares. Sitting outside watching the river flow and seeing the Hippos its a memorable event. The rooms are... More

As world travelers for the past two years, there's nothing that we've experienced comparable to staying at Sanctuary Retreat Camp Olonana. Our tent was exquisite located on the Mara River with the sounds of the Hippos early in the morning with ever possible amenity many comparable to what one would find at a five star hotel. The food was prepared... More

This Sanctuary is a must if traveling to this region! Maurice, Lucas, Big John, Victor, Raphael, Henry, Issac and team were amazing! Always courteous and willing to help with all matters. The food was the best we had on our entire Safari - gourmet in the Mara - thanks Big John! Abdul was our Game Guide/Driver has extensive knowledge of... More

We have just finished 3 nights at Olonana as the beginnning of a 9 day safari and everything was perfect - the tents are all facing the river, are very private and have outdoor areas with day beds and deck chairs. The decor is tasteful and extremely comfortable, crisp white linen on two twin beds and lovely product in the... More

We stayed here on a package through Abercrombie & Kent, and apparently they own this place. Our driver & guide Anderson picked us up at the airstrip. Upon pulling up to the hotel we were greeted by the smiling face of Christina, the assistant manager, and a Maasai playing a flute-like instrument who played the entire walk down to the... More

They aim for luxury and we felt very special. Lounge & putdoor area very modern right on the mara river with hippo everywhere. Tents with balcony very private and all on river. Wake up call with tea coffee and muffin. Bathrooms large with flush toilets. Good bedding & free washing. Would highly recommend. Our guides Abdul & Anderson very knowledgeable... More

We recently returned from our "bucket list" trip to the Maasai Mara Reserve and enjoyed our visit to Sanctuary Olonana. It is ideally located close to the entrance to the reserve (on both ends), and to a very real Maasai village which is absolutely mind-blowing (people living the way they have for hundreds of years, bathing in ponds and river... I loved Sanctuary Olonana. From our pick up we were brought on a drive through the Maasai Mara Reserve and treated to a picnic lunch on the open plains. By picnic, I mean 'fully catered buffet meal'. Check out the photo of it I posted with this review. We were welcomed in the traditional Maasai style once we arrived to... More

This is a beautiful facility, think Ralph Lauren does Safari - Out of Africa aesthetics. The tents over look the river where you can watch the hippos and listen to the wildlife. The game drives lead by Joseph were amazing! You must request him! This is a life changing experience!
