We stayed at Governors from 16th-18th Jan 09 - and it was AMAZING! After a somewhat bumpy (read..sickly!) flight into Governors airstrip, it was a quick jaunt to the camp itself. After being greeted with a drink and cold towel, we checked in effortlessly and were shown to our "tent". Well, what can I say? the word tent is a... More

We booked into Governor's Camp for a December stay after reading repeating glowing reviews on this website. Governor's was everything previously stated. Professional, punctual, interactive and intimate. All staff were friendly and helpful. Everything happened when it was scheduled to occur. Governor's promised lots of animals no matter what the season and they delivered. And the promise of getting up... More

We have just returned from Mombasa on the 1st December. I booked a safari staying at the Governors Camp direct with Kenyan Safaris and Adventures (Doc) based in Diani Beach. Felt abit nervous booking a safari that way but received an 'Excellent service' and saved lots of money. Staying at the Governors camp has beed an experience of a life... More

Thankyou to all the wonderful staff who made our trip to this little Paradise Governors Camp so special. Thanks Philip and Joseph for excellent service and for all the laughs that kept our family entertained. To awake with a Journey of Giraffes outside your tent will live in my memories forever, truly special. The drives were also so wonderful and we... More

On arrival, after passing Mount Kilamanjaro on the way up from Mombasa, we were greeted by Bernard Kashu, our driver for the duration of our stay. We were guided to the honeymoon tent, which was the furthest out of the camp! We were not there for too long before Bernard took us out for our afternoon drive and boy what... More

My wife and I stayed at Governors Main Camp for 3 nights at the end of August. Following an overnight stay in Nairobi we used Safari Link Airways to fly us to the Mara airstrip. The 45minute flight was punctual and check in very smooth. I’d recommend the service to anyone. Following 2 drop offs at other airstrips in the... More

My husband & I stayed here for five nights at the end of August 2008. I have stayed in tented camps in the Masai Mara before but Governor's far surpassed them. It manages to strike the right balance between providing an excellent level of comfort and still maintaining a proper camping atmosphere. The tents are really comfortable - I hate... More

We loved Amboseli Tortilis and Samburu Intrepids camps on our Kenya safari, but nothing prepared us for the number of animals we saw on The Mara at the Governor's Camp! We were met by 5 lions at the airstrip. What a start to our three night stay. It is hard to imagine 1.5 million wildebeest or 500,000 zebras and countless... More

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon in 2006. As with other reviewers this place is fantastic. Food, location, staff all brilliant. If you want the safari experience this is the place to stay
