One of the best places to unwind. We always make this camp one of our last stops on safari. Top notch staff, food and atmosphere. Falling asleep to the hippos each night has to be one of my favorite things. We also experienced a bit of activity passing by our tent each night! Moses and Daniel were great drivers, and... More

We spent 2 nights at Rekero and wish it was 2 months. 1st and foremost if you have a sense of adventure stay in tent 9! The hippos are on your doorstep and in the water. The sounds and sights at Rekero lodge itself on the river are amazing. We had 50 Zebra just outside our tent, Hippos all night... More

We were a family party of six who experienced three different camps over 10 days. Our first camp was Porini Amboseli, the second was Rekero and the final was Governors Il Moran. We all liked Rekero Camp the most, probably because of the staff! Marianna and Clea were extremely warm and helpful, quickly anticipating our needs. We also met Arthur,... More

If you are looking for a memorable safari experience in the Maasai Mara, then look no further than Rekero. The genuine warmth of your welcome from all the team, the special location on the banks of the river, the wonderful home-cooked food and the magic of lying in a warm comfortable tent enjoying the sounds of the African night all... Rekero camp is very ideal, if you are looking for a very private safari and getaway without many people around you. rekero camp is know for the famous pride of lions it has. it is also known to be a great area for photographic sceneries. if you are looking to see the great wildebeest migration up close, i would suggest... Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of July, before moving on to the sister camp Naboisho for 1 night. This was my third visit to the Maasai Mara, and Rekero was the best - in terms of both service and game viewing. Conway, Marianna, Arthur and the rest of the team were great hosts, fostering a warm and... More

This is our fourth "camp" experience in Africa. Our take away is that this is truly a special experience. You are not merely a paying guest, you are a welcomed friend. The managers could not possibly be more accommodating and friendly. They join you for dinner; they want your every request met. Each night everyone joins together for an outstanding... More

The camp has an excellent setting`` we saw a lion making a kill while we were sitting down to lunch under the trees. The rooms are not luxurious but very charming and very comfortably appointed. The food is outstanding, the staff really take care of you,Clea who is in charge will go the extra mile to make sure you have a... The Rekero camp experience was truly amazing, particularly if you like to sleep to the sounds of hippos. The tent I stayed in had an extra bonus, a cape buffalo who munched tree leaves directly outside our room. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable and fun. Our guide, Sammy, loves what he does and found us a plethora of animals to... More

I have been to several camps throughout the Mara, and I don't get it. The "rooms" are nowhere near as good as several of the other camps on the list. A basic tent with nice quaint Safari setting furniture. Maybe it is the setting, which is really beautiful, but the whole mara is like that. Maybe they just attract people... More
