As we always travel at peak times, it had been tricky for Rekero to fit us in. It was worth the wait ..... we had a fantastic time. It certainly lives up to it's reputation: excellent guides, exemplary hospitality, superb location and luxurious accommodation. From the moment we arrived, everyone was so hospitable and did everything they could to make... More

Rekero was the first of three camps we stayed in Kenya during this summer trip. I loved the location of the camp, situated by the river. You hear the river flow, and the hippos hum. Some guests said it was what kept them awake at night, for me it’s what put me to deep slumber. The tents are well sealed.... More

This was the first camp in our second safari after a trip to Tanzania 2 years ago. I had really high expectations after a great experience with 3 other Asilia camps in Tanzania, and it did not disappoint. Location: The location was perfect. Each tent was placed facing the river, and we had a nice view of the hippos. At... More

I'll add my 1,000% endorsement of Rekero to the long list of raves. Just returned from a first visit to Kenya, had never been on safari and was blown away, first by the wildlife -- location is fantastic; we only stayed two nights but were lucky to see the Big 5 -- but just as memorably by Rekero. Without exception,... More

This was my first time at a camp during a wildlife safari trip. I didn't really know what to expect. The whole experience was brilliant. We had a room right beside the river... the natural sound of the flowing water and the view was amazing. At night, a hippo was right beside our tent. The atmosphere at the camp was... More

The accommodation was absolutely fantastic and very comfortable. As there were very few people there during our stay, the hosts were very welcoming and extremely attentive, making the whole experience very enjoyable. Their hospitality was faultless. I have travelled to Africa many times, and this stay was excellent throughout.

Rekero camp has that mix of a wonderful location, excellent guiding and game viewing and a team of staff who all want to make your visit memorable. Each day will bring new experiences. Enjoy the views of the river in camp, hear the unforgetable sounds of the African night and be spoilt by the delicious food.

Rekero is one of my favorite destinations in Kenya. The small camp is located in an oasis of animals on a beautiful viewing spot that has water during the raining season. Safari's will not disappoint. I have been to this camp 3 times at various seasons. The service and food is excellent and safety is a priority. The actual tent... More

The animals were abundant. The scenery amazing. We loved the tents. Bucket showers were super. Escorts with spears at night was great! Elegant tent camping! Tent was very well made- felt Secure, private and netting on windows kept all bugs out. Elephants and baboons munching around your tent night and day! Guides were fabulous. We requested guide to take us... More

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. Conway and Clea and the staff of mostly Masai people are outstanding. Our guide Martin was exceptional, not only in finding and identifying all kinds of fauna, but in his interest in African history. The Masai Mara area has an extraordinary number and variety of animals, and it is very beautiful, especially... More
