We stayed at Rekero in October, 2014 as our first stop on safari. It is incredibly well run, friendly, and fun. Our guide was excellent and showed us everything he possibly could in the 3 days we were there. The meals were excellent, made that much better by the managers asking our food preferences when we arrived. Being our first... More

Posting this rather late but we stayed here for a week from the 10th October and loved every minute we spent here. The tents are very comfortable and don't be afraid of the bucket showers. You just have to be a bit quicker than normal. If you want wildlife stay in tents 7-9. We had a nightly visit from a... More

Our second time at Rekero we were expecting to be happy but not as thrilled as the first time. We were wrong, Rekero is just as wonderful and the most fabulous experience. There are changes, but for the better, such as electricity and running water in the tents. We cannot get over how hard everyone tries to make your stay... More

I planned my trip for a year. I was counting down the days. Six weeks before my departure I fell and broke my foot. I also tore a major ligament in my right hand (I am right handed, of course) which required immediate surgery. All I could think was that my trip was not going to happen. A week after... More

This was one of the best placed we stayed at in Africa. The camp is located in a wonderful area surrounded by river. Our tent is by the river where the hippos go in and out of the water, it was great. The staff were very friendly with great food. The staff are always ready with the hot bucket water... More

Rekero is very hospitable, low key and laid back! Our tent was great, even the bucket shower was fine. Our tent faced the little river and there were small crossings of various animals. We heard hippos at night walking by our tent on the way to the river but with Isaac guarding the tent all night, I always felt safe.... More

The hospitality of this place is amazing! You feel right at home from day one! The camp staff were so personal, warm and friendly. The tents were great:spacious and included everything that you would need and more i.e: gundly. The food and service were excellent. The position of the camp was fantastic. Overlooking the Mara river. During our lunch we... More

Marianna and Klea are the amazing hosts who look after the guests at Rekero Camp. From the welcome drink to the room check-in process to meals. They are everywhere and full of smiles. I loved the hospitality and laid back feel the place had. The mess tent overlooking the river is situated perfectly for game viewing and migration during season.... More

We stayed here Mid July and spent 16 days on safari in Kenya and Tanzania. Rekero was our first ever camp and it exceeded our expectations. Of all the camps we stayed at, it was our favourite. The tents were comfortable and spacious and included everything that you would need and more i.e: gumboots, insecticide and hot water bottles in... More

We were booked into the Rekaro Camp by our safari tour company, Planet Africa Safaris. The facility is a similar design to the mobile tent safari camps complete with Navy showers and offers a rustic, outdoors, adventurous feel. It is located on a small river and we would see animals every day in close proximity to our camp. It is... More
