We stayed only one night due to limitations of our schedule - but the manager and staff were extremely nice and helpful, the food was great, the room was top notch. the lodge itself blends in with the surroundings which I thought was great; we had a park drive arranged and while we arrived slightly late the staff were able... more

As part of our stay in the Masai mara were were booked into the Mara Simba Lodge for four nights. Our excitement grew when we realised the hotel was in the midst of so much of wildlife. To say the least, we had a room that was on stilts with a water body flowing beneath, and more often than not... more

Hakuna matata ... means no worry .. unless u are worried about the lion during the safari ... entering the lodge was an experience by itself .. a drive over unchartered territory. but once in you are in safe and warm hands. hospitality at its best. the chef even made ugali (a maize corn mash - a local favourite) for... more

I took my husband to mara Simba Lodge for four days over Easter 2009 as his 50th birthday present. The trip was organised by Somak, and we flew in and out via Keekorok Airstrip from Mombasa. The whole trip went extremely well from an organisational aspect, and Mara Simba Lodge was an excellent place to stay. All the staff were... more

Like we found all over Kenya, the staff of lodges were unfailingly friendly, attentive, and helpful. We never felt like we were being treated as meal tickets although tourism is what the Kenyan economy depends upon. Mara Simba is a wonderful lodge in a wonderful place. Our room was large, well appointed, very comfortable bed with a balcony overlooking a... more

A decent camera and Bino's are a MUST! We saw the big five, including... more

Of all the lodges we stayed at on safari, Mara Simba was our favorite. The staff was attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. The food was excellent; the vegetarian curries and lentils were particularly good. The lodge is right next to a river, which makes for great entertainment during meals - if the hippos or croc aren't around, the mongooses, baboons, monitor... more

I stayed in Mara Simba Lodge for two days. Remember to ask for rooms in the upper floor which offer better view. The things I like most about the lodge were friendly staff and the river view. The staff always tried to chat with you and asked how your trip and meals were. There was a Masai staying at the... more

Was worried by a previous post and use of credit card. We had no problem. The rooms are spacious, clean and with a nice balcony, we were on top floor. This overlooked the river where hippos and crocodiles played. During the night you could hear the hippos and hyenas, if this what a previous post meant by thin walls as... more
