We spent two nights here, after single nights as Mt. Kenya and Lake Nakuru. You definitely want two or three nights here, especially in August, which is the peak period for the wildebeast migration. We liked the lodge very much, and love Masai Mara. The grounds are covered in trees and bushes from all over Kenya, and there are lots... more

We stayed at the mara simba lodge in September and loved it. One of the most amazing places on earth. We had a wonderful guide called Geoffrey, he made all our trips intersting and full of so much information, we saw every animal we wanted too and much more. Nothing was too much trouble for Geoffrey. We also did a... more

Followed on from (basic but clean jacaranda & very homely naivasha lodge) On leaving the Nakuru lodge our driver told us that it would be approx 4 hrs until we reached the Mara Simba lodge with a stop off on the way again at a souvenir/trinket shop. At this point I asked him what was the possibility of visiting a... more

We stayed here for 3 nights - the last of our week's safari. You could do balloon rides here, but at £250 pp it was way too much. The restaurant staff were brilliant. Hi Isaac! You have an allocated table, with allocated waiter/ess for your stay. They serve the soup, but the rest is self-service, and the food is great.... more

We loved the Mara Simba. Our three days there were the highlight of our trip. Elephant family greeted us as we enetered and as we walked to our room we saw Hippos sunbaking, swimming aned grazing by the river. It was simply too awesome to describe. Service was extraordinary. Staff really made us feel special. It is typical lodge style... more

Very good value lodge in the Masai Mara game reserve, one of the best places to view game in Kenya. The staff were very pleasant - they remembered our 4 yr old son's name and always asked him how he was (as well as asking us). Good location on the Talek River - we saw crocs and hippos from the... more

Arrived at the lodge for the final two nights of our honeymoon safari which we had booked with Virgin. The first thing that has to be said about the lodge is its location. You are surrounded by the Masai Mara and the views are amazing. When we arrived we went to the bar which overlooks the river and we watched... more

We have been talking about going to Kenya on Safari for many years, and we were not disappointed at Mara Simba Lodge. Mara Simba was one of 4 places we stayed during our safari adventure in Kenya. The lodge was beautifully very rustic and comfortably designed. The lodge overlooked a river. You could just sit on the deck overlooking the... more

What an amazing place this was. This was my first trip to Kenya and the end of our safari trip was 3 nights stay here. The rooms were nice and roomy, with reasonable sized bathrooms. The main dinning area and lounge areas mostly look over the small river that attracted Hippos, Crocs, monitor, mongoose, baboons, vervet monkeys and Fish Eagle and... more
