Very comfortable rooms, good food, very friendly staff, the Mara Sopa was our first "game lodge" on our Safari in Kenya and all in all our stay here was a great experience enhanced by the architecture of the buildings. However the road approaching the lodge is in appalling condition with pot holes and wash outs literally metres deep! This is... More

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay. We stayed 3-nights, full board (which excludes drinks). The food was excellent and was usually buffet style. The rooms are very spacious and nice. They have a friendly staff and all in all we felt very comfortable. We stayed in a hut with two rooms. The only problem we came across was that... More

As other SOPA lodges in Kenya and Tanzania. breakfast and dinner is buffet style with plenty of choices, I would give it a four star rating - fruit not always really fresh but still good - hot food is excellent an eggs are made to order if you wish. Wait staff is very polite and helpful. The srchitecture is really... More

We stayed 2 nights at the end of our Safari! It was great, loved the Lodge with the cozy sitting area and fireplace, the pool was great ( although freezing), landscaping was gorgeous, game viewing was spectacular, food was great and staff was friendly and efficient, what more could you need ? Only complaint would be how far we had... More

Room (# 33) had a safe and mosquito net. The walls are a bit thin. Bathrooms were OK and clean. Sheets seemed clean. No balcony and windows didn't have a proper view. It was a bit suffocating. Especially in the afternoon when we went back to our rooms after lunch - very stuffy because there was no ceiling fans or... More

We stayed for two nights a the beginning of a weeks safari. The room we were given was close to the main building was of good size but was incredibly dark. The bed was very hard as were the pillows. The hot water was good when available. The safe was included with the room but the design was awkard so... More

We stayed in the during my safri in October,11. Our experience in this lodge was painful. Right from the entry it was horrible. Our tour operator D.K.Grand Safari booked the lodge well in advance. But the management told that only a single room left and we have to stay there. Those guide with us showed the booking slip and ask... More

Mara Sopa Lodge offered nice facilities, food and rooms. It is a large chain hotel and you can definitely feel it. It wasn't as personal as previous accommodation on our trip but service was efficient and friendly enough. The food was plentiful and tasty and the rooms were clean. However, I was very disappointed when I witnessed them feeding the... More

The Mara Sopa lodge was terrific. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, nice pool, and of course great access to the Masai Mara and all the wildlife. We saw lions, jackals, giraffes, buffalo, elephant, and many more within a few kilometers of the lodge, plus the hyenas they feed each evening. The lodge itself is on a cool, forested hillside, and makes... More

You can tell that Sopa Lodge is trying hard to provide a great experience. Staff were friendly, food was plentiful, the Masai display in the lobby bar was good fun. The resort looks lovely, and blends nicely with it's environment. The beds were comfy and the room a good size. However, I could hear the party in the next room... More
