My 19 year old daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights in early November. It was a great base for our wonderful safari in the Masai Mara! The lodge was close to the safari roads, the staff was very accommodating and the food was very good. Our room was clean and comfortable. In the evenings, we enjoyed watching the... More

We stayed at the Mara Sopa Lodge for 2 nights during our trip to the Masai Mara. The lodge was in a fantastic location to access the game park quickly and easily and from the outside looked quite authentic. On closer inspection the hotel was a bit run down and could have done with a lick of paint. The staff... More

Some of the rooms are a bit of hike to get to, but they are clean and comfortable and roomy and the security guards are there to escort you to your room at night - animals of the 4 legged kind may be around!!

Mara Sopa is a beautiful lodge built on a hillside.Cottages are strewn all over connected by rambling pathways. The architecture with conical domes and decor of authenic Kenyan art and colors is a visual treat.Steps at the impressive entrance lead down to a circular lobby. At a lower level is a spacious lounge/hall with an interesting circular fireplace, and a rustic cozy... This was our third and final Sopa Lodge and we stayed for 2 nights at the end of a fantsatic safari. First impressions were good, although the lodges at Amboseli and Naivasha are better, in terms of ambience and service. This lodge seemed more crowded and noisier (from the guests) but maybe this was due to the fame of the... More

This lodge is a long way from everywhere, but thats a great compliment. It was basic I guess, but very clean, and staff were great. We stayed here for a few nights, and enjoed it all. The moment you go out ont the drive you will forget any pain points. We both thought the food was great. Im not a... More

Its amazing on how they have built and maintained a hotel in the middle of the jungle. Ontop of that - theres a wide variety of food and cuisines on offer! There are certain restrictions though like there is no hot water all the time - but its completely understandable. The rooms are good size and very clean. Masai Mara... More

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of September 2010 and enjoyed the stay. The location was good - right by the entrance of the park. The grounds were beautiful and the main areas (lobby, gathering/bar area, dining room, pool) were all very nice. Service was good. The room was on the smallish side, but comfortable enough. The... This lodge is definitely 'top notch' when it comes to level of service, attitude of the staff and the price paid ($430.00 for two nights full board) including the services of a tour guide in a combe. This was in June 2010. Three full means a day+ afternoon tea...(kinda a lot of food, so be careful otherwise one can put... More
