We've booked the lodge through Bonfire and was expecting a 5 star lodge. I must say the personal was very friendly and they try hard, but in my view the following was not up to standard: * the gardens around the hotel are very untidy and need maintenance * the rooms are overgrown with bush witch mean you can't enjoy... Mara Sopa lodge is just outside the gates of the Masai Mara. We booked it as part of a 3 not that safari with natural world Kenya safaris. The staff were great. Very friendly. Was quiet as its low season and we loved this. Coming back in the evening to the big fireplace and a nice tea/coffee was great. They... More

The Mara Sopa Lodge provides excellent service, spacious adobe style rooms and a genuine safari style experience with a large conical lounge and bar space, wide veranda overlooking the swimming pool and the valley below. Meals are generous with five courses, and selections of two main courses and desserts. A Maasai dance was included. The sale of souvenirs at the... More

If you find it hard to choose between all the options available for safari, rely on Mara Sopa to satisfy. Attention to every detail and attentive, friendly staff. Worth the price. It's easy to forget where you actually are once you enter the gates of Sopa Lodge. I agree with all the previous superlative reviews except the one describing mediocre... More

Located at the end of an extremely bumpy track, what a wonderful delight this place turned out to be! We were greeted with a refreshing drink and a damp flannel to remove the dust from our road trip from Nairobi. The staff were attentive and charming. The rooms were huge, with extensive mosquito netting, floor to ceiling and velcroed at... More

Was my third venue, room and food not as good as other sopa lodges but the location is amazing, baboons around the lodge and the sound of hyenas at night chilling! Safari trips here are the best of all, seeing two leopards in one trip'

After having seem a few reviews online regarding this hotel. I was a little sceptical! Once we arrived all scepticism was removed. Sopa Lodge has been renovated! We had a fantastic stay here, great rooms with good storage, space, security, mosquito nets and fantastic showers! The beds are also incredibly comfortable. The hotels lounge area feels like being at a... More

I was traveling with two others and all three of us came down with stomach problems during our time here. In my case, it was relatively serious and lasted a full week, having a meaningful impact on my vacation. I certainly can't say for sure that it was due to the food here, but since it seemed like a food-related... More
