I was highly impressed by the service of the lodge and would compare it to a 7 star hotel. This is all thanks to Daniel (waiter), Astarico (vegetarian chef) and Peter (manager). Daniel was ever smiling and looked after our group well. Astarico accommodated our dietary requirements with delicious meals as our whole group was vegetarian. All meals were scrumptious.... More

Of the 4 hotels/lodges we stayed at during our holiday in Kenya this was our least favourite. This was not particularly the fault of the lodge or staff as they were very helpful and made a real effort with the entertainment. It was more to do with the layout and location of the lodge. It probably sums up the lodge... More

We spent the past two nights at the Mara Sopa Lodge. The property is spacious so the pathways to the rooms were fairly lengthy; we were grateful that the staff moved our suitcases for us as it would have been quite the trek. Given the rain we had each evening we would have liked the rooms to be a bit... More

There were 10 of us in our group from ages 70 to 12. Locaton was a bit far from the other lodges. Food was excellent. Rooms were very clean and big. Staff were very friendly. There was a problem when we got there but it was sorted by the manager. Entertainment was good. Only downside was the pool table need... More

We spent here 2 nights while in the masai mara. The rooms are clean and the food good and safe (however as a general safety measure we always only ate hot things, never the salads. We would have eaten also those if they had been covered. This is the main suggestion I have for the hotel: cover all your food,... More

Decent choice for a comfortable stay in the Maasai Mara. Food and service in the restaurant are OK. However, wifi needs to be improved. Rooms do not have wifi or TV, but that seems to be the norm in the parks. At most there is a common area for TV and drinks, etc. I stayed at several other Sopa lodges... More

We went as a private tour and the hotel was chosen by the tour group. We were very favorably impressed by the quality of stay at the Mara Sopa lodge. We were welcomed with a cool drink and wet towels- essential after a long and dusty drive up to the park. The Lodge is practically at the gates of the Masai... More

The only negative part is the road to this lodge which is quite bumpy but then if you are not much bothered about that, the trip to this hotel is always worth the effort. We could go to the safari from here daily. The food was excellent and the staff (all of them!!) were really pleasant and took a lot... More

The Mara Sopa Lodge is just inside the Masai Mara Reserve near to one of the main gates. Accommodation is in pleasant lodges set around a central Restaurant / Bar. Food was buffet style, good quality and well presented - this included a barbeque for one of the evenings we stayed there. Clean and well appointed rooms - very friendly... More

This was a very nice lodge . I was fortunate that my room was not too far from the reception but this was not the case for everyone and it can be a bit of a walk (I was told) from the farther rooms. The room was very comfortable with desk, chair, sofa etc. Toiletries provided daily. The bed was... More
