The most useless place to be in. the staff were rude to us and it took us 1 hour to get through the main gate. well I think the sopa group need to pull up their socks. Went to Nakuru sopa as well and found steel wool in their food. Complained to them via email n they never responded. I... More

Mara Sopa Lodge is a very nice lodge with a great ambience. The food is good and plenty and the staff is friendly and helpsome. The area around Sopa has some very good wildlife. We saw both lions, cheetahs and elephants and many other animals in the areas. Even the black rhino was sighted within an hours drive from the... More

I read all the recent reviews of Sopa before departing. Sopa far exceeded expectations. It is well designed, beautiful property that is well maintained. Food was served from a menu for dinner and a hot/cold buffet for breakfast. Meat cuts were as described in the menu. Sauces and flavors were excellent, vegetables were steamed crisp and never overcooked. Drinks were... More

Mara Sopa is a great and comfortable place when visiting the Mara on safari. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff friendly and the food is excellent. Only 4 stars because I was really looking forward to spending some time in the pool, which was closed the entire time we were there.

Don't expect 5 star luxury hotel, it is a lodge in the middle of the Masai Mara. We loved it. Great character. As it's in the middle of MM there are limit / restrictions on things like- hot water/electricity. Which is to be expected when you're on Safari. The lodges are charming and within pretty gardened grounds with the view... More

If you go expecting a luxury hotel, you will be disappointed. I was there in 2000 and it struck me that very little has changed since then - if anything. The staff made us feel extremely welcome, the service was excellent and they bent over backwards to do everything to make us comfortable and relax. The actual rooms are OK... More

We've booked the lodge through Bonfire and was expecting a 5 star lodge. I must say the personal was very friendly and they try hard, but in my view the following was not up to standard: * the gardens around the hotel are very untidy and need maintenance * the rooms are overgrown with bush witch mean you can't enjoy... Mara Sopa lodge is just outside the gates of the Masai Mara. We booked it as part of a 3 not that safari with natural world Kenya safaris. The staff were great. Very friendly. Was quiet as its low season and we loved this. Coming back in the evening to the big fireplace and a nice tea/coffee was great. They... More
