We spent one night here on our Kenya safari. The rooms are located in huts that kind of look like Haggrad's house from Harry Potter, four rooms to a building. The rooms were large and comfortable. We had a 2nd floor room which provided a balcony and allowed for evening viewing of the game that came up to hotel to... More

Went on my first trip to the Masai Mara and it was just fantastic. Stayed at the Mara Sopa Lodge. Staff were friendly and food was good. Room was very comfortable. Wished someone had advised me to stay longer than one night. All the same, it was pretty fantastic. I would recommend it to all.

The place is very nice. The lodge is near to the gates of the Mara park and could hear lions roaring in the wild from the hotel at night. The beds are good and the overall hygiene okay. The staff are very friendly and the meals are worth your money. I stayed for two nights in August 2014 and left... More

An intersting design of lodge layout. The bar has a large fire place that is circular and is divided into three sections. This is a similar design to the dining area. breakfast and dinner is usally a help your-self style buffet. breakfast is is good with a wide choice to suit everyone's tastes; porridge, pancakes, ommlettes, sausages, bacon, danish pastries... We had a pleasant stay here. No real complaints but the place does need some sprucing up. The walls in the room were a little thin especially apparent when the people in the next room were feeling a little romantic! The food was fair although the BBQ night was great. If there is african sausages available - you got to... More

We stayed here for the last two nights.. The lobby, pool and restraurant are nice, but the rooms could use some remodeling. Our room was quite a walk from the lobby, which is ok, we broght a flash light. The power is only on during certain hours, but since we had an very early morning ballon ride, they kept our... More

After staying at Amboseli and Naivasha Sopa lodges I knew what to expect from Mara Sopa Lodge. Lodge atmosphere is really good with large bar and restaurant area. Reception area is a bit too small and the way the stairs are built to climb down to the reception and bar can be a bit annoying sometime. You have access to... More

This lodge is in bad need of refreshing, especially the rooms. The bathrooms really feel like they need a good scrub down or renovation- they are poorly built. The room design makes then not very private & the walls are paper thin. The amount if stairs in the main entrance, then down into the lounge would be a real problem... More

As the name says , this is a lodge not a luxury hotel. This does not mean that it is not a nice place but it standards are adjusted to the fact that this is far from any city with electricity. But in my opinion its a bit "rustic" style fits the place. After all what you have come here... More

The rooms are a good size and comfortable. The swimming pool is nice, but not heated. The public areas are ok. Sadly I was not that happy with the food and dining arrangments. Each meal was a buffet and the lines could get a bit long at busy times. The food wes ok, but I did not really enjoy any... More
