We stayed at the Mara Lodge as part of the Kuoni Cheeta Serena Safari. The Lodge itself is brilliant - the little huts are so quirky (style is reminiscent of Gaudi) and we had an amazing view of the Wildebeast lining-up for the crossing - we could see for miles. We could also see Girraffe and Elephants from our room... More

This was our final stop on safari which we booked through Somak. We had a bus for just the two of us and we stayed here for two nights. This lodge is absolutely fantastic. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have wonderful views of the Masai Mara. The service was excellent whether in the restaurant or at the nearby bush... More

Stayed three nights 24/8/2010 to 27/8/2010 Perched on the brow of a hill this hotel sits like a lighthouse on its promontory above the vastness of the Masai Mara. The hotel is way out in the park and the views from the rooms and central dining room, bar, pool, and reception area are sensational. Each room with its sitting area... More

Stayed four nights here. Room was large and very comfortable and we used the internet for a lowish fee. Beds very comfortable, good mosquito net, lovely bathroom and good service. We used the laundry service which was excellent. Heavenly views from the room of the Mara. Food was excellent although service at rimes erratic. Really enjoyed our stay.

During a perfect round trip in Kenya and Tanzania July/August 2010 the Mara Serena Lodge was the Top Experience! And that was not an easy competition to win. Masai Mara during the migration is such a great advanture - and the Serena Lodge was a perfect frame for that experience. The view is priceless! We used ESSAL (Elegang Safari Services... More

As an international hotelier I have a discerning critical eye and high expectations. While this lodge may be described as rustic, its unique architecture and authentic Masai decor is certainly more appealing than more contemporary designs. Over the 4 days we were repeatedly in awe of the service standards and the food quality and presentation. Operating an international property in... More

This was our final 3 nights on safari and the last of 4 lodge/hotels before returning to Nairobi and flying home. The amazing views from the bedrooms overlooking the Mara plain and river are something all our group will remember for years to come, plus the bushbuck and/or warthog snuffling in the undergrowth immediately below the bedrooms. Colourful lizards on... More

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a 2 week safari, we had the very end room so it was nice and quiet and it was great to see the little rock hyrax's running around outside the room. The room was clean and comfortable and different to the tented camps we were used to. It seemed fairly busy... More

We moved to Mara Serena after a night at Little Governor's Camp- and the two do not compare. The bathrooms here are small, service spotty, beds uncomfortable, and restaurant and common areas dated. Perhaps our bad luck, especially moving from the paradise that is Lil Gov, was compounded by the fact that there was a conference group there at the... More
