We were very disappointed when we checked in (after an 11 hour dusty drive) to find that the pool had just closed for no reason just as we walked in at 5:30pm and it was not supposed to close for at least another hour! The pool hours were not honoured and were posted differently at the pool and in the... More

We stayed at the Mara Serena Safari Lodge for 3 nights and had a really great time. The rooms were comfortable and the hotel staff were very polite and friendly. The location is inspiring and one has fantastic views of the game reserve. We are vegetarians which can sometimes be limiting, but the choice of food and the quality were... More

As mostly you rate safari accommodation for the richness of the wildlife, ability of the lodge to cater to the safari-crazy guests - this one deserves an Excellent mark! Why? -Maasai Mara itself turned to be for us crazy big cat lovers to be our most favorite safari destination -the lodge is nicely situated so that you can have three... More

The rooms in this hotel are very colourfull, clean and spacy. Staff is friendly and food is great. The view from all the rooms is spectacular!! The location is ideal for the game drives and between the game drives it is nice to rest at the pool with the great view!

The Mara Serena is the only centrally located lodge in the Mara Triangle Conservancy. It is located on a hill overlooking the Mara River. There is no reason to miss most game sightings as from the Serena you can quickly access roads going both north and south within the reserve. Most all other lodging is around the Oloololo Gate at... I had previously been to the Masai Mara some 16 years ago and had stayed at Mara Serena lodge it was brilliant the and it was brilliant now. Amazing location. Very friendly staff who welcomed my kids and us with the warmth of a family member. We simply loved this place. It looks a little dated but that's the charm... More

I stayed here in May 2011, but will never forget it. The views over the Mara are incredible sunsets included. . The hotel is very well located with stunning views over the Mara. The staff is very helpful, food was delicious, and rooms were very comfortable. The ambiance at night for cocktails and dinner was so relaxing and just fabulous.... More

Situated on top of a ridge with a great view southwest. Close to the Mara river so it's a short drive to watch the wildebeest crossing. Good location for night time animal viewing too. Room was nice even if the beds were a bit lacking. Staff was very friendly and courteous (even the guy who had the job of keeping... More

We spent three nights here over Christmas and it was amazing. The hotel is very well located with stunning views over the Mara. The staff are so helpful and welcoming; nothing is too much trouble for them. Food is amazing. Amazing views from the bedrooms which themselves are unique. A perfect place for our family (son 11 and daughter 8).... More

We spent two nights at the Serena Lodge in July 2012. As others have said, the buildings are very Flintstones like which was a nice difference. Our room was fine but would benefit from a bit of a spruce up as it was looking a bit tired. The views were magnificent from our room and the public areas. From our... More
