I have stayed at the Mara Serena on four occasions, my last being July, 2011 when my family and I spent 3 nights at the Mara Serena. The company I book with out of Nairobi, Affable Tours and Safaris, made our reservations at this location at the time of my first trip and I couldn't have asked for a better... More

We volunteered in rural villages for a week and on the last 2 days of the trip I suprised the husband with this amazing resort. Maybe it was just so amazing because it was the first bed, shower, and all you could eat buffett we had in over a week. The views were amazing, the staff were really nice, and... More

What Can I say. We traveled in the rainy season so there were very few people here and we got first class service. I mean super personal attention. The game drives were great, the pool fine for those times between looking for animals. The view from the room was fantastic and the hotel itself was like living in a Gaudi... More

Was booked in with friends by Rashid of Zaira Tours for a 2 night stay on full board. This is definitely a lovely hotel with a great character. The service right from the warm welcome and quick check -in was impeccable. The food on the buffet was superb and our quarters absolutely comfortable with a view of impalas and many... More

This hotel is on a hill with very privileged views of the Conservancy Triangle (the best part of the Masai Mara park). The price includes breakfast, lunch and dinner (but not alcohol). Service is really good and the food is of surprising quality considering you are in the middle of nowhere. WiFi is available for an extra charge of around... More

We never Safari by air as we enjoy seeing the country and usually build a good raport with our driver and guide. Yes the roads are bumpy and sometimes ther are no roads at all but what an experience. We try to stay at Serena properties if possible and the Mara Serena always lives up tp our expectations. Yes, rooms... More

Mara Serena is at the far end of the park and hence it is advicable to go there by air if you are with your kids since last 2 hours of drive was very painful because of rough roads and bumpy ride. Mara Serena is a fantastic hotel with a welcoming staff. Room was stuffy and there were no fans.... More

On the 3rd day of my 5 day safari trip my husband and I stayed at the The Serena Mara Lodge in the middle of the Masai Mara. En route from the previous lodge we saw lots of Masai tribesmen and women along the way wearing vibrant clothes and carrying spears. These people look incredible and are really tall and... More

The first thing that struck me from the moment we arrived at the Mara Serena Lodge was the view. There is a spectacular view of the Maasai Mara from every room! We saw giraffes, warthogs and various ungulates just by gazing out from the balcony. The sunrises in the mornings were absolutely breathtaking. My group also enjoyed the bonfire that... More

This was my third stay at the Mara Serena, and I loved every moment. My only advice is that if you are handicapped in any way, ask for a room near the lodge, as the rooms are built on the side of a hill, and it can be quite a climb from the lower ones. The lodge itself is spacious... More
