I got to spend 4 amazing nights at Bateleur camp, and words cannot even begin to explain how much I enjoyed it!! The camp itself is beautiful - as others have said, it exudes the classic, historic safari experience of the 1920s. The rooms/tents are beautiful, and the main area is like something out of a movie. Large, inviting, impeccably... More

From the greeting at the airstrip, through to the dinner each night, staying here is an absolute joy. The pampering you get here really is just icing on the cake when you are spending your mornings and afternoons out on the Mara exploring the area and seeing the most spectacular wildlife. The "tents" are more luxurious than many hotel rooms... More

Great fun spectacular river crossing lasting 40 minutes, ranger estimated 110,000 willibeast and zebra crossed. The dust, the commotion, the surging willibeast frantic to cross, panicked by lurking crocs, coupled with zebras scrambling to climb out and up steep river banks was breathtaking. Bateleur Masi camp delivered an awesome experience. Food was great but the Serengeti better, spent very little... More

I can't say enough things about the Bateleur Camp. The accomodations were great with the most beautiful views. Each day we sat out on the patio and watched animals in the distance. The food was extraordinary and the people couldn't have been nicer. Each meal I commented on the food we were eating and when we left the chef handed... More

The camp was well maintained and accommodations were a permanent tent.........a little apprehensive about staying in a tent prior to arriving but it was AMAZING! The morning sunrise while laying in bed was breathtaking. We had all kinds of wild life within view outside of our room including the rare Black Rhino. The service was top rate and the food... More

From the time we landed at the Kichwa Tembo Airstrip to leaving for Serengeti, the four days spent at Bateleur were an experience of a lifetime. First and foremost the crew at the camp. From Esther and Tolu and Karanje and Meshack the Chef at the camp to Omari/Wilson our Ranger at the Masai Mara. The love and warmth we... More

If you've never been in a tented camp, you'll be blown away. From the old world safari tent that greets you on arrival, to the tea served on a petal strewn tray, to the attentive staff (hot water in the bed at night!) and excellent tour guides to the star-filled nights, to the meals eaten under a tree looking out... We just came back with my wife and four kids (17,16,11 and 6) from the best vacation a family can possibly have. It is not only about all the animals we saw in their natural habitat; it is about immersing yourself in an exciting and unexpected world. The staff could not have been better. Esther, Richard, Titus and our guide... More

THE GOOD: The setting on the escarpment base is pretty and if you're into wildlife, the forest around the lodge rooms is a great place to take relaxing walks and look at the colorful birds and monkeys. The location outside the park has its advantages as you can take reasonably productive night drives here. The guide we had was quite... More

I think I would have liked this resort better if I hadn't come directly from the Finch Hatton resort in Tsavo, which was amazing. The tents were nice but I missed the elegance of Finch. The game drives were much better only bc there are more animals than in Tsavo. The food was okay. They served us outside but I... More
