The most important thing is that; you are in the middle of the reserve and so the game. The game drives begin just outside the camp. You go to sleep listening the lions and hyenas (one night I listened a leopard growling, what a feeling). You dont need to worry about the gate closing times. This is not a luxury... More

I've stayed in the Mara many times, at many properties. This was my first time at Matira. Its a small camp in a great location. 10 normal tents and 6 bush tents across the stream. Service is very good, as is in the rest of the Mara. Food is average, but not bad. Tents are clean, and spacious. Bathrooms work... More

Stayed at Matira Bush Camp in Masai Mara November 14 and this is a very nice place with very friendly staff. Not a luxurious camp but very down to earth, and I will deffinateliy come back to Matira bush Camp again.

I stayed at the Matira Bush Camp for 5 nights in mid August 2014, as part of an 11 day photo safari, to coincide with the wildebeest migration. As others have said the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and made my stay very special. I had an incredible time in the Masai Mara and the team at the Matira... More

I have stayed at quite a few other safari camps in Africa, but this has been by far my favourite. The team cannot do enough to make you feel special. The place itself, located in the middle of the Masai Mara, is beautiful and has obviously had a lot of attention given to detail. On arrival at the camp, we... More

Spent a week at Matira during the Migration. This bush camp is in Mara. At night I heard hyenas, hippos and lions. It is a highly recommended place to visit and stay. Jonathan and Ken were both our drivers. I specifically went there to see cheetah in the wild. And my wish was granted just about every day. Including one... More

We loved our two nights at Matira Bush Camp, wish we could have stayed longer! The camp location is amazing, right in the middle of the Mara, built around a stream, with very good tents, well-maintained grounds, and excellent meals. Of the six places we stayed during 10 days in Kenya and Tanzania, this was my favorite.

Our trip to Matira and Maasai Mara was FANTASTIC. Jonathan and team took great care of us. We were given the tent Malaika close to the stream, and hearing hyenas and hippos at night was extremely thrilling. The tent was basic, but very clean and more than adequate. I would specifically like to mention our guide Ken who was just... More

Coming to the Mara to take in the sights of the wildlife and the wildlife was a awsome experience . All at Matira made it even better . They were very friendly and accomodative and made us feel right at home . Early to rise and late lunch is the order of the day but no worries when you are... More

Loved the Matira! The staff was so accommodating and welcoming! The food was great flavor and they even went the extra mile for me with being a picky eater - Thank you again. The tents were beautiful inside, great style and the warm water bottle at night was the best treat! Thank you again for wonderful service and the safety... More
