If i had to go back to the mara i woud not go to this place. Staid 2 nights in august 2013. Bad from the beginning and did not get any better as days passed, Location, on the border of the mara, you need more than 30 minutes to get inside and start watching. Service, manager arrogant and disrespectful. Masai... More

Thank you for your comments, I must say that I do not remember a Guest by that name from Spain staying with us in August but anyway im really shocked to read this it does not reflect at all what we are about. LOCATION; we are located 5kms from the National Reserve in a very pristine area called Olare Orok... More

I suggest everyone who want to experience the unbelievable closeness of nature in the highest possible safety and comfort. The staff is very attentive and always pay attention to the order and cleanliness of the rooms. The meals are delicious, the beds are comfortable! We have only been given a few days in this wonderful place, but the staff did... More

This is a sensational lodge and should be the first one you book when traveling through the Masai Mara National Park. The food is amazing, rooms are luxurious and the surrounding plains are packed with all types of animals. We saw a wildebeest crossing and a lion-hyena standoff, all while eating breakfast on the lodge balcony. I stayed at the... More

As my title suggests, the hotel was the worst "luxury" hotel ever, but may not have been the worst hotel ever. So in my opinion, this review would be useful for those swayed by the manager's fancy talk, or for those who believe in value for money. 1. Not boutique. Not luxury. The price charged may have been as high... More

I have been to the Mara before but didn't have the same oohs and ahhs like I did when staying at Amani Mara. Amani is a Swahili word that translates to 'peace' and the place lived to its name in the 3 nights that I was there. The staff was more than helpful and entertained me with stories about their... We stayed at Amani Mara in September 2013 in a double room for 3 nights. The rooms were great, they were clean, luxurious, comfortable and quiet. You get all the benefits of 'camping' without actually camping with the the big zip up windows and personal patio out the back putting you right in touch with the wilderness. The service was... More

What is there to say that hasn’t already been said by so many? Amani Mara is a paradise in the Mara, and the owners make their guests feel like part of the family. We were fortunate to be there over Christmas, and there happened to be no other guests there at the time. Even for an intimate place, Ashif, Shelina,... More

We went in the month of July right at the beginning of the wildebeest migration from the Tanzanian Serengeti to the Masai Mara in Kenya. This was such an incredible experience as we were able to witness the mass migration and the symbiotic relationship between the Zebra and Wildebeest. If you are an environmentalist, this is the perfect destination. The... More

This was a great find in Mara - beautifully located near a hippo pool. Loved the rooms and the central patio for sitting out to watch the animals. Great hospitality from Ashif and the staff. I particularly remember Simon, our safari driver - very knowledgeable and a great tracker. Only downside - food options are somewhat limited. But the cosy... More

Wow - a gem of a place! The owner and host clearly has a passion for Maasai Mara and has brilliantly created both a rustic and refined lodge to take in the beauty. It was amazing to watch the hippos and crocs in the river below the lodge and all sorts of animals meandering across the spotted plain. Even more... More
