stopped here as an organised trip to the mara at the end of a 3 week overland tour. Beds were comfortable and the tents spacious. There are showers and flushable toilets within an area of your tent. Water for the shower took a while to become hot but just run the water in your sink for a while before using... More

Location is about 17km from entrance to park. Tents were cold at night but the very warm hospitality more than made up for it. Mr Kennedy at the Restaurant and Mr David the guard (at night) of the Bamboo section impressed me very much by their genuine interest in the welfare of the guests. Well prepared food with staff regularly... More

Nice comfy beds, with toilet and shower in the tent. James was the best host, he should be working at a 5-star resort. He was so helpful and vivacious. No wifi. Electricity from 06:00-10:00 and 19-22:00. Food was good, typical Kenyan hotel food. It was so quiet once the generator stopped. You just hear the wind, very peaceful. About a... More

I stayed at Mara Springs for two nights on a safari and it was perfect. I stayed in one of the permanent tents. Basically a tent held up with metal (but with a lightbulb dangling,) two cots side by side - but most importantly - your own outdoor shower at night! The staff will get hot water for you and... This camp was perfectly fine. It was about a 15 minute drive from the gate. The tends were clean and well stocked. There was a nice general seating area with plugs for all our cameras. The folks who worked there were nice and helpful.. It is very basic but clean. No complaints at all.

I picked Mara Springs/Mountain Rock based on positive reviews in Lonely Planet. It has mid-range pricing with excellent service. Initially I had planned to take only a 3 day safari to Masai Mara while I traveled with my mom, then search out a different company for my wife and I when we met up. My mom and I were so... More
