The entrance to the camp is hidden between closely knit bushed, centrally located within the nature park Masai Mara. The camp overlooks the Mara River, where you can frequently see crocodiles and hippos in the water. During lunch and dinner, we had a table at the edge, giving us the chance to do some animal spotting whilst eating. The buffet... More

We had two lovely nights at Asnhil Mara where we were able to listen to the hippos snorting in the river during breakfast. The camp is well located and we saw a huge variety of animals including the Big 5 during our two night stay. Although on our first night we were placed in tent close to the generator which... More

We stopped here for 2 nights to finish our Safari adventure. The staff were really friendly and polite; and they gave us a traditional Swahili Chorus and a cake on our last night. The location was brilliant, together with the camp accommodation and location which gave us a good base to get out into the countryside

The Ashnil Mara camp was well located on the Mara river with noisy and amorous hippos adding to the atmosphere. We were a party of six --grandparents, parents and grandchildren on a safari adventure and the game drives were superb- we saw four of the big five, wildebeest crossing, hot air balloon flights and even a black mamba. The staff tried... More

The location is very good as you are on the river and game drives do not take a long time to reach the game as you do in some other camps. Food variety at the included buffet was very good and hot foods were kept hot. Staff were helpful. This was the only lodge on our trip that did not... More

We stayed here for 5 nights recently specifically to witness the wildebeest migration. Everything was just perfect, location, wildlife, cuisine, ambience, staff and the accommodation. We managed to see the Big 5 and we couldn't fault a thing. At dinner on our last night we were serenaded with a cake and an assortment of musical instruments (pots/pans etc) exquisitely executed... We started our Kenyan adventure with a day in Nairobi and after spending some days at Parks and Rerserves we intended to have our final day in Nairobi visiting the elephant orphanage, Karen Blixen museum and dining at the Carnivore... However, after the days devoted entirely to animals with relatively few people around, decided we were not prepared to face... More

my wife and i just got back from Kenya and stayed 2 nights at this hotel. weliked the sister hotel in samburu for several reasons. first, charging for wifi was a bad idea. second, the food did not have a great deal of choices. third, while the employees were very nice and responsive, management was very standoffish. again, only US... Ten of us spent four nights at this lovely camp in the Massai Mara. The service was exceptional and the staff were always willing to go out of their way to help us. The location was stunning with all camps facing the river. The rooms were exceptionally comfortable. Food was excellent. We also requested for a packed breakfast and lunch... More
