We did a four day safari with somak and literally from getting picked up at Wilson airport to the camp we saw so many animals and the lovely driver stopped a lot for our first pictures and was very knowledgable! Tent was lovely and we had clear views of the river we were in tent 41 about a 5-10 min... More

We stayed here on our last 2 nights of a 7 day 'cheetah safari' with Somak. We arrived in time for a lovely lunch and we were then shown to our 'tent'!! It was beautiful! A lovely 4 poster bed, amazing bathroom and a lovely large veranda right on the riverbank. There were hippos in the river that we could... More

This was our final stop on our 2 week Kenya safari. This property is a sister property to the camp we stayed at in Samburu, which also was wonderful. These "tents" were even more deluxe than the Sumburu tents and were on raised platforms so you climbed a few steps to enter the "tent" via a door (vs a zipper... More

The last stop of our safari with Somak (highly recommended company). This is the sister camp to the one we stayed at in Samburu. Tent accommodation was fantastic with a lovely veranda overlooking the river where you could see and hear the hippos day and night. The food was fab and service staff in the restaurant were lovely. The games... More

It's a lovely and safe camp, equipped with everything including hair dryer, closet, large shower case, amenities, towels, flashlight, insect repellent, hot water bottle, extra blanket, electric fan, safe, etc. (Just bring toothbrush, toothpaste, and slippers) We stayed in rooms #40 and #41, the walk from the lobby is very far away. But it's good to start a day or... More

We visited Ashnil Mare Camp in the middle of July 2014. Great location at the Mara River, but as It is a tent camp, it was very cold at night time, therefore remember to bring warm night clothes with you.

We were 3 families that spent 2 nights at the hotel. Edwin and his team looked after us very well. They were willing to find solutions and to help us enjoy the Mara experience. The birthday celebrations at the restaurants are fantastic and unique ! It's a must do !!

Amazing magical place indeed. It was tented lodge right out of a Hollywood movie. Four poster bed with a net canopy, solid furniture, huge bathroom with a walk in shower the size of a room. Right in the middle of the reserve made the game drives perfect, one in the morning then another in the late afternoon. The service and... More

First the good -- location, location, location -- deep in Masai Mara eliminating the long, time consuming drives that are necessary from other camps which are located by the entrances; by a bend in the river Mara overlooking a hippo pool, luxury 'tents' (these are not your average weekend camping tents); and, excellent service! Now the not so good --... More
