We flew to Sala's Camp after a memorable stay at its sister camp, Solio Lodge. Salas Camp has traditional tented accommodation which is comfortable, but not luxurious like Solio. As previously stated, Salas is a social camp with communal dining encouraged. We were on our honeymoon and preferred to dine alone - Mark the manager ensuring we always had our... More

Overall: Although the accommodation is tented and the camp is not fenced, I felt that in someway, it gave me a truer safari experience as you often have game coming through the camp and so I loved my stay here. However, staying in a tent cannot offer the same comforts as a lodge (I will expand below) so if you’re... More

Sala's Camp is a classic permanent tented camp on the banks of the Sand River, practically on the border of Tanzania. It's beautifully situated for relaxation as well as wildlife viewing. My tent was a 10-second walk from the main tent where guests ate and lounged and availed themselves of wi-fi. I loved this area as it was so comfortably... More

We arrived at Sala's camp as strangers and left as lifelong friends. Situated on the bank of the Sand River, bordering Tanzania, Sala's had everything we could have hoped for while visiting the Mara. From our first warm welcome from Mark and his amazing staff, to the incredible accommodations, freshly prepared food( dietary restrictions are taken into account), we were... More

As part of my Safari Collection trip, I visited Sala's Camp as my third destination. Unfortunately, this was a hard act to follow after staying at Sasaab and Solio Lodge. The accomodation was a tent, very accommodating (but not like the luxury I had previously experienced) and the food less haute cuisine. It all depends on what you are looking... More

Sala camp strikes a perfect balance between formality and informality. The service is excellent but not smothering. The wild life guides are first rate, often finding rare species away from the glare of other vehicles, providing a serene experience. The camp itself is in a stunning location, on a river, far away from other places to stay. The accommodation is... More

Sala's Camp is the sixth of seven stops on the faultless itinerary we booked directly with Cheli & Peacock Safaris (www.chelipeacock.com), and it is another really great camp in a lovely location, with great food and wonderful staff. We loved being here and, again, we were extraordinarily lucky with our wildlife sightings. We even saw a pangolin (up close and... More

I have visited Masai Mara on various occasions and can say with confidence that this is THE camp to stay. Out of Africa theme not ostentatious but hits the mark. Mark and Hattie are a perfect combination of hosts and the staff don't miss a trick. Excellent meals and wine options. our driver/guide Sammy & Jackson the tracker ensured we... More

Sala's Camp is conveniently located in a quiet area along the Sand River and we witnessed the wildebeest crossings in front of our tents several times and of course we were put to sleep by the humming sounds of them as well! The staff were exceptional, friendly and efficient, thanks to Mark, Jodi, George and Fred. Our game drive guides,... More

If you were driving past you wouldn't know Salas camp was there. Amazing well hidden, the entrance is along a little track, one moment you are on safari, the next you are hidden amongst the trees shortly to emerge on to the banks of the Sand River. It is a lovely setting. The camp comprises 7 well finished and furnished... More
