Sala camp strikes a perfect balance between formality and informality. The service is excellent but not smothering. The wild life guides are first rate, often finding rare species away from the glare of other vehicles, providing a serene experience. The camp itself is in a stunning location, on a river, far away from other places to stay. The accommodation is... More

Sala's Camp is the sixth of seven stops on the faultless itinerary we booked directly with Cheli & Peacock Safaris (www.chelipeacock.com), and it is another really great camp in a lovely location, with great food and wonderful staff. We loved being here and, again, we were extraordinarily lucky with our wildlife sightings. We even saw a pangolin (up close and... More

I have visited Masai Mara on various occasions and can say with confidence that this is THE camp to stay. Out of Africa theme not ostentatious but hits the mark. Mark and Hattie are a perfect combination of hosts and the staff don't miss a trick. Excellent meals and wine options. our driver/guide Sammy & Jackson the tracker ensured we... More

Sala's Camp is conveniently located in a quiet area along the Sand River and we witnessed the wildebeest crossings in front of our tents several times and of course we were put to sleep by the humming sounds of them as well! The staff were exceptional, friendly and efficient, thanks to Mark, Jodi, George and Fred. Our game drive guides,... More

If you were driving past you wouldn't know Salas camp was there. Amazing well hidden, the entrance is along a little track, one moment you are on safari, the next you are hidden amongst the trees shortly to emerge on to the banks of the Sand River. It is a lovely setting. The camp comprises 7 well finished and furnished... More

Despite originally booking for three nights, on departure I stepped off the plane and came back to camp for an extra few days - I could not bring myself to leave! Mikey, Mark, Jordi and the entire staff made the experience exceptional - they were accommodating, approachable and happy to respond to every whim. The service was outstanding and food of... More

At migration time, this will be the best place going. We were there a month earlier, and various safaris yielded plenty to see, so we were well satisfied. Mark and his team did a great job looking after us. Special mention to Anthony, who must be the best head waiter going. He should run a resort himself one day, he... More

We spent 3 nights in Salas, included Christmas Eve. What a fantastic place in the Mara at the Tanzanian border along a river. Our tent was very comfortable and fully equipped. The camp manager Debbie is a wonderful person and host. Our safari guides were great professionals and gave us the possibility to spot the big five, cheetahs and many... More
