Out of 15 camps we have visited over the years Mara Plains is platinum class. Excellent game viewing and facilities. The tents are in a league of their own, 20 m long, beautifully appointed with free standing copper baths, chesterfield, furnished deck etc, Shawn and Amy are fantastic hosts. Free use of the lodge's professional camera equipment is a nice... More

Mara plains, *sigh* !!! What an absolutely incredible experience !!! Where do you even begin to start reviewing a place when there is just so much to tell you how amazing your game viewing experience has been. From the moment you set foot off the Safari Link flight, you are treated with utmost luxury. We were greeted by Mara Plains'... More

I admit that I am a very critical traveler, but this property is one that I really battled to fault. Other than a couple of very minor things that are not even worth mentioning, there are not enough good things I can say about this place. INCREDIBLE guides, FANTASTIC tented rooms. OUTSTANDING food and FABULOUS wildlife viewing all in the... More

Mara Plains is in a category of its own. The "tents" are beyond stunning and the staff and service are top notch. The Mara and most of the surrounding conservancies are relatively busy as far as safari goes but with our outstanding guide, Kevin, we had so many amazing sightings all to ourselves! With great views of the plains and... More

I can't say enough about this place. Amazing accommodations, amazing game drives, and amazing hosts. Shawn and Amy are great, as is the food here. The game drives we spectacular (early September 2014), when we saw a major wildebeest crossing of the Mara River. And Dan, our guide, was an extremely dedicated guide that worked hard to show us everything... More

How fortunate to be able to experience such a unique camp to which in my eyes I considered to be the true Africa. As soon as I landed onto the Ol Kiombo Airstrip to start my Maasai Mara Plains adventure I knew I was going to love everything....and I did. Our driver/guide Dan met us at that wild little airstrip... More

It is hard to describe the uniqueness, splendour and thrilling excitement of the "whole package" at Mara Plains camp without sounding like some tragic travelling tosser. But on every level this place is stunning - the location and accommodation - faultless, the daily game drives - outstanding, the effort put into making your stay by ALL staff from the night... More

Our visit to Mara Plains is always motivated by an urge to see the teeming wildlife around this gorgeous camp, in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy. But what enhances the experience even more is the sensitivity and awareness of its staff towards the importance of treating this Bounty of Nature with the respect it should be given. For its managing couple... More

Everything about Mara Plains Camp is spectacular- the location, the food, the luxurious canvas tents, the personal service and the friendliness of our hosts Shaun and Amy. Game viewing was a real treat with the amazing Tirian finding newly born lion and leopard cubs and making us witnesses to a cheetah kill. We have been to many camps in different... More

Mara Plains Camp is not only a VERY special camp but it is situated in a VERY special place. Because the camp is small it is very unique. The staff make you feel right at home and can not do enough to make your stay absolutely fabulous. Because it is in a private conservancy there are never hoards of vehicles.... More
