I can't say enough about this place. Amazing accommodations, amazing game drives, and amazing hosts. Shawn and Amy are great, as is the food here. The game drives we spectacular (early September 2014), when we saw a major wildebeest crossing of the Mara River. And Dan, our guide, was an extremely dedicated guide that worked hard to show us everything... More

How fortunate to be able to experience such a unique camp to which in my eyes I considered to be the true Africa. As soon as I landed onto the Ol Kiombo Airstrip to start my Maasai Mara Plains adventure I knew I was going to love everything....and I did. Our driver/guide Dan met us at that wild little airstrip... More

It is hard to describe the uniqueness, splendour and thrilling excitement of the "whole package" at Mara Plains camp without sounding like some tragic travelling tosser. But on every level this place is stunning - the location and accommodation - faultless, the daily game drives - outstanding, the effort put into making your stay by ALL staff from the night... More

Our visit to Mara Plains is always motivated by an urge to see the teeming wildlife around this gorgeous camp, in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy. But what enhances the experience even more is the sensitivity and awareness of its staff towards the importance of treating this Bounty of Nature with the respect it should be given. For its managing couple... More

Everything about Mara Plains Camp is spectacular- the location, the food, the luxurious canvas tents, the personal service and the friendliness of our hosts Shaun and Amy. Game viewing was a real treat with the amazing Tirian finding newly born lion and leopard cubs and making us witnesses to a cheetah kill. We have been to many camps in different... More

Mara Plains Camp is not only a VERY special camp but it is situated in a VERY special place. Because the camp is small it is very unique. The staff make you feel right at home and can not do enough to make your stay absolutely fabulous. Because it is in a private conservancy there are never hoards of vehicles.... More

The Mara Plains Camp is located on the northern border of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in the 35,000-acre Olare Motorogi Conservancy. It is one of only four camps operating within the Conservancy, so that there are few vehicles roaming the area for game viewing or photography. All the structures are tented, with elevated wooden platforms reached by steps from... More

Thank you, Amy and Shaun, our perfect hosts for 3 nights at this amazing camp.Luckily we stayed here on our travel agents recommendation and trusting him, we did no further investigation of the property until we arrived. This meant we got a wonderful surprise on first seeing Mara Plains - WOW - we have done many safaris in Africa over... More

It is hard to find words that describe the beauty of the Maasai Mara experience, but it is not hard to exclaim how much fun it becomes when you can stay with the kind of folks that Mara Plains introduces you to. Our Camp Managers, Shaun and Amy were the perfect blend of hospitality executive and naturalist with more than... More

We stayed here this past summer and loved it. The staff, accommodations, setting, food, and most of all the safari experience could not have been better. Shaun and Amy are wonderful hosts and our guide Ping was first rate. This is one of those places you wish you could keep going back to every year. There are only 6 or... More
