This camp is beautifully thought out, situated along the banks of a small river with resident hippos and wildlife galore. The host and hostess provide and warm comfortable feel, whilst the level or service is 5star from all the friendly and eager to please staff. Our guides were super knowledgable and the accommodation luxurious. Special attention has been paid to... More

This was our second visit to Mara Plains. We took our kids and grandkids with us this time. It was a great experience for ALL three generations. Management is outstanding, food very good, location, cleanliness, all top notch. Amy and Sean, the camp managers, were particularly noteworthy. We were on our twelfth safari in the last sixteen years and we... More

From the moment you cross the bridge into the framed view of the open plains you are surrounded by understated luxury and comfort that makes the most of the natural beauty of the Mara. This camp was everything we expected and more. We were welcomed by the entire staff and felt quite at home. Sean and Amy were not only wonderful hosts but great managers and very informative about the region in general. The entire staff was always eager to help us in every step of the way. The camp is located in a... More

Mara Plains fit the bill perfectly for the luxury, mainstream Mara portion of our safari. The rooms (we had a family tent, with 2 huge tents connected with a card table and patio overlooking the plains - 3 twin beds on one side and king on the other) are magnificent and charmingly appointed in colonial British East Africa style. Great... More

I have stayed at many luxury camps in the Mara which have all been amazing and this one is my favourite. The tents are large and luxurious and very tastefully decorated throughout with WiFi. The beds are comfortable and that shower is an experience of its own! The view from the tents are wonderful as there are no fences meaning... More

My husband Butch and I took our children and grandchildren on a trip of a lifetime for them and were fortunate enough to be able to spend 6 nights at Mara Plains. I really cannot say enough positive things about the camp - from it's guides (Ping and Kevin are exceptional and while the animals are the same for all... More

Yep, three visits in six months. That says it all. I visited Mara Plains for the first time in August, and have been back twice since. The most recent visit was the first time for me in the Mara in March. And, possibly the best. Of course you don't have crossings, but what you do have is predator activity that... More

This was a fantastic tent camp in Kenya. The individual tents were luxurious with every facility and appointments perfectly designed including bath and separate shower. The hosts sean and amy were fantastic yielding to all your requests including private intimate dining on your own veranda. The food was fresh, tasty and hot.
