Earlier reviews have already mentioned the arrival by speed boat, and this certainly sets the tone for the quality and pleasure of the experience a stay at Manda Bay delivers. We stayed for 5 nights after time on safari, celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Just a note to anyone thinking of doing the same - have a look at www.thesafariandconservationcompany.com,... more

The arrival at Manda sets the scene for your stay, an exhilarating speed boat ride direct from the airport to the resort wets your appetite for the rest of your stay. On arrival your are quickly told that you no longer need your footwear - you are now at bare foot heaven! Manda Bay itself is what you make of... more

Absolutely ideal for a relaxing four days after ten days of game drives. A beautiful location, superb lodges, very relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff and a speed boat ride to get there from the airstrip at Lamu. The food and service were excellent in all respects – the best of our trip to Kenya. Caragh and Andy, our hosts, always... more

Well, what a place. We arrived by speedboat to be greeted by the owner Andy and was shown around and given the resort information by himself and Caragh. The place is fantastic, the rooms very spacious and clean, service is excellent but discreet. Soon found out that Andy has a zest for life which is contagious, everyday he and Caragh... more

Although the monsoon was blowing the wrong way when we stayed at Manda Bay, and hence the water was a little murky (therefore snorkelling was not possible and the excellent fishing there was not at its best), this made no difference to having a fabulous stay there: The food was exceptional, even by world standards; some of the best seafood... more

we just spent a perfect short break at Manda Bay relaxing after a safari and came away invigorated and re-energized. From arrival to departure you are made to feel welcome and included in 'the family'. Bimbi and Caragh go out fo their way to suggest great fun things to do - boat trips, snorkelling, examining the nearby ruins, etc etc.... more

Manda Bay Resort on the northern tip of Manda Island is a truly luxurious place to stay. My wife and I stayed there for 5 nights in September, 2008 and were sorry to leave after 6 wonderful days. It should be classified as "true barefoot luxury". Upon arrival at the Manda Airport across from Lamu, we were trasported by private... more

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Manda Bay. It was very relaxing and the staff friendly and helpful. Our banda was large, clean and we enjoyed having coffee deliverd to it every morning. The view from the front of it was amazing. We are not beach bums and looked forward to doing more "active" things while we were there. Unfortunately,... more

Went to Manda Bay for lunch and arrived by speedboat from Lamu town as guests of the owners. Wow! Didn't want to leave. A simply stunning place which oozes barefoot luxury. Bimbi Fuzz and the gang looked after us wonderfully the fishpie with lobster tails and prawns was divine. The individual bungalows are all the epitome of casual elegance. Yummy... more

After a very high end Safari we were recomended Manda Bay to chill out and take things easy. The place is gorgeous when the tide is out, but once the tide is in you are a prisoner on your own island and there is nowhere to go. Not good if you like an evening run. The owners, Andy and Fuzz... more
