Arriving at 2:00 in the morning after a long wait for luggage at the airport, we were greeted and promptly shown our rooms. Rooms are relatively spartan, but serviceable for this economical hotel. The hotel offers a good location in a safe and well-traveled area of Nairobi and is a good way station after flying into Nairobi before traveling throughout... More

The Methodist Guest House is located in a nicer part of Nairobi and is located securely in a walled enclosure. We had a mosquito net and the breakfast buffet was good. Why the poor rating then? Because after 20 hours of flights and standing in line forever at Nairobi airport I needed sleep. After a couple of hours of sleep... More

I have stayed at the Guest House many times over about 12 years. It is simple, it is not elaborate, but the staff are wonderful. Many of them have been there ever since we started going years ago. The food is good, and buffets are plentiful, but you have to realize it is not an American style buffet. The security... More

I was looking forward to staying at the Guest House. I had heard good things from a couple people about the accommodations and a friend lives in Lavington, so I'd be close to her. The nightmare began with the on-line deposit. I debated long before I decided to go ahead and use what I was told was a secure link.... More

I stayed there for a few nights earlier this year (2013). It is in a good location with plenty of places to eat nearby. The rooms were simple but ok. Hot water worked fine. No Mosquito net in my room. The internet was not really working that well when i was there, so this could be an inconvenience. Good service... More

We stayed for two nights at the MGH!in Nairobi. We found it a very comfortable venue with very good service. We booked a Dbl. Room but changed to a twin as the Dbl is all Bed at difficult to move around. The water was plentiful and very, very Hot. Seems to be common experience of all reviewers. The location is good... More

i will not say this is the best hotel in lavington, but i also wont say it's very bad. The hotel has a christian foundation so theres a church attached to it. Pleases dont go there on a sunday if ur not a church goer because u wont get any sleep. The rooms are very basic, local standard, it needs... More

This was the only place we stayed in Kenya. It is dated but clean. Hot water all day. The internet is non-existent unless you log on between midnight and 5 am! The meals are the same every day and the quality decreased as the evening progressed. Often there was little selection and poor quality later in the evening. Staff was... More

By African standards, this place is a palace. Safe, clean and affords you all of the comforts and securities of home. Laundry, good food, the only place I've seen in Kenya that brews coffee (typically you will see instant powdered coffee and hot water, or just tea). The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The wifi signal is weak pretty... More

We could barely open the door to our room as the bed covered 90% of the floor space. The general atmosphere was good but for the price we paid this was not good value for money. There is a large swimming pool but this can be extremely busy so don't expect a leisurely swim.
