I always stay at Gigiri Homestead when I visit Nairobi. Staff very warm and accommodating, rooms clean and comfortable, great breakfast, good wifi, reliable ground transport, safe and convenient location. Warm, homey atmosphere.

I have stayed at Gigiri Homestead on six different occasions when in Nairobi. It is always clean. The staff is attentive and food excellent- especially awaking to their great pancakes and a good cup of coffee. Whenever I needed information on the area, they were responsive. An excellent value of the cost with a staff that goes out of their... More

I stayed two nights at Gigiri Homestead while on business at the nearby UN Compound at Gigiri. A torch is useful for the occasional power cut (I had one which fortunately did not last long; and the torch is useful if you walk out at night (see below). The Homestead itself is well-guarded and secure and in a suburb of... More

I would definitely recommend staying at Gigiri Homestead: it is in the close vicinity of the UN compound and the Village Market (closer to the latter since the guesthouse moved mid-October); the rooms are nice and clean, the house is very comfy and the meals are excellent (prepared on the spot by the local cook). But the biggest asset of... More

Whenever in Nairobi, there's no question about where to stay. The food is excellent, the staff is ever so friendly, quiet location, nice rooms, Village market with all the services one needs is just around the corner. I've tried quite a number of hotels/guest houses in Nairobi (in case Gigiri Homestead was fully booked) and Kenya, never had a better... More

This hotel is just one fine experience, with great food, service and a wonderful location with fine rooms and great food three times a day. Violet is a big sweetheart and she will serve her most delicious dishes and deserts. The big garden in the backyard is a real asset amidst a secure area in one of the finest places... More

I have never reviewed anything on TripAdvisor, but our stay at Gigiri Homestead really compelled me to do so. Right from the first minute at the homestead, we felt at home due to the warm welcome received. We particularly loved the serenity of the place, as well as the helpfulness of all staff. Pick the Master Ensuite! It is simply... More

Stayed here in January 2014 for a week and returned for 2 nights in April 2014. The property is beautiful, the rooms nicely furnished and clean, and the service friendly and warm. Very quiet and peaceful place and good breakfast served. UN complex and Village Market (for Maasai Market) within walking distance of the homestead. Dinners served were good too... More

I originally went to this guesthouse because I go to work at the UN and the traffic had got too bad to stay in town, but I'm so glad I did. It's really cosy and safe, in a quiet, secure area which is walking distance from Village Market and UN Gigiri, and the food and cleanliness are second to none.... More

I stayed at Gigiri Homestead for a week in Nairobi while travelling there for a non-profit, and it was one of the highlights of my trip. The homestead itself has a wonderful bright, cottage feel, the garden is beautiful and peaceful. The area is very safe, secure and close to the Village Market for food, supplies and shopping. Bedrooms and... More
