I usually stay at the Country Lodge but it was full. After spotting an add for Meridian Hotel in the in-flight magazine, I gave them a call and they had room. The price was the same as the Country Lodge (a clean and central hotel with free internet access) but it did not compare. The room was dirty (really dirty);... More

we paid $180 for a room in April as we were stuck due to the volcano eruption. the staff were lovely and friendly the food was great but the rooms dirty and old , windows did not shut, light switches hanging from walls and doors not secure, and the bathroom was a disgrace. The picture of the pool looks lovely... More

The Hotel is upgrading its facilities and the guestroom facilities are excellent. It's location in the Central Business District is in walking distance to any offices. WiFi in the entire building. Swimming pool on the roof (6 story building).

Just stayed one night as flight from LHR got in to late to get a to our destination, Zanzibar. Got there at 2230 and it was 2330 before we managed to get settled in our rooms due to the fact that they had not given us adjoining rooms for 2 adults and 2 children. In the end my son, daughter... More

I returned to the Meridian Court Hotel for my fourth stay in December, 2009. This is a marvellous hotel conveniently located in the heart of downtown Nairobi. The rooms are positively huge and exceedingly comfortable. Not surprisingly for Africa, the plumbing leaves a bit to be desired, but it is more than acceptable. Unfortunately, as the hotel fronts on a... More

We stayed here for two seperate one night stays, before and between overland trips, so experienced a couple of different rooms. The rooms were both very big, with seperate sleeping and sitting rooms. If they were maintained nicely, it would have the potential to be a nice hotel. However, they're not. The fact that they were dated didn't bother me.... More

We were a group of six people that stayed there for 1 night only. It was one night to long. The place was so bad - from the reception to the rooms. Not to mention the 'restaurant'. One of our friends was nearly robbed of her handbag. There was so much noise that we couldn't sleep at all. Please stay... More

I chose to spend a little extra on this hotel because their web site advertised a "modern, fully equipped gym" and a business center with internet, email, and fax (necessary because I was training for Kilimanjaro and also had some work to do). They have neither! When I brought this up to the reception and manager, they were dismissive and... More

We left the same night that we got there. There was tear-gas wafting through the hotel, non-smoking rooms didn't mean that no one smoked in the rooms, sound-proof glass was not even close to sound-proof, bed was rock hard, just to state a few problems. It cost about 140 USD and we wouldn't pay 30 at home for a room... More

The hotel is very central and so its a noisy place. Especially on the weekends there are some clubs nearby, that make impressive noises. The primeur rooms are well furnished and very clean. The staff is friendly and helpfull. The splendid restauraunt shown on the hotels web-site is closed (at the moment?). So You eat in the basic breakfast room.... More
