Stayed with family (3 young children after New Year). Hotel was OK but very overpriced. They managed to charge my credit card twice and two years later they still refuse to acknowledge the error? and reimburse me despite many emails and acceptance of fault. This is the only forum available to post this criticism. Also poor location for any decent... More

We began our two week stay in Kenya at the Karen Blixen Cottages. While we had very little time to enjoy the beautiful gardens (we were at the hotel no more than 24 hours, en route to safari) and friendly service, our stay was very comfortable. The cottages are charming and nicely appointed, and the breakfast was fantastic! We would... More

We came to Karen Blixen on the recommendation of a frequent-travelling friend who pointed out, as other reviews here do, that it's a nice calm place in a pretty busy city. It also helps that it is not so far - maybe 12km as the crow flies - from Wilson field, which has clear getting-to-the-Mara implications. It's further from Jomo... More

Have visited Karen Blixen Coffee Garden on several occasions. Love the food, the peace and serenity and the customer service. Looked round the rooms and absolutely loved them. Must admit i have never stayed there - a little pricey for me but soon...

The cottages, which are extraordinarily expensive, are quite lovely and the area is quiet. The beds are very hard though. And I've never stayed at a $300 night hotel that refused to give me shampoo. However, I had a visitor and in the morning when leaving for the airport the guard refused to let me leave. They wanted an additional... More

Spent 2 nights at Karen Blixen after being in Cape Town and before heading out to the Mara. Hotel is near the Elephant Orphanage and Giraffe Sanctuary. Kazuri Bead factory is also nearby and well worth the visit. Food in both the restaurant and bar were great.

I had to be in Nairobi for a week on personal business but did not want to be in the middle of Nairobi as it is noisy and frankly unpleasant. A friend referred me to Karen Blixen Coffee Garden and I must say I am very pleased they did. The grounds are quiet and peaceful in the pleasant suburb of... More

We just returned from Kenya after a 2.5 week safari and we stayed 2 nights at the Karen Blixen Cottages at the end of our vacation. These cottages are located in Karen which is a suburb of Nairobi and Karen is a top place to stay. Don't stay in Nairobi with the conjestion and the traffic. Karen is a stunningly... More

Karen Blixen Coffee Garden is a haven in hectic Nairobi, and somewhere which, by the end of my Kenyan visit , I began to consider as home. I returned four times over the space of a couple of weeks, using the Coffee Gardens as my Nairobi base during my safari holiday, and was shown the greatest hospitality directly by the... More

This is the second time I have stayed here. We wanted a quiet haven after a safari. How disappointed we were. There was a wedding going on (as actually there was the first time too), and the noise from the speeches and music blasted through our room. When I complained that this was not acceptable for $420 I was offered... More
