Macushla is located in the Keren neighborhood, which is the "Beverly Hills" of Nairobi and near to the Elephant orphanage, Kazuri bead factory and Karen Blixen house. The hotel was a bit of a letdown compared to the other hotels I had stayed at for my safari in Kenya. I would have stayed another night at Giraffe Manor but they... More

We stayed here at the end of our safari, as many guests seem to do. Wish we could have stayed longer. The house/hotel is located in Karen not far from the Karen Blixen (Out of Africa) Museum and walking distance to the Giraffe rescue center. Our hosts made us feel like we were their most important guests. One guest we... More

We spent our first night In Kenya at Macushla House after spending our first memorable day visiting the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and Nairobi National Park. It was all very easy and most enjoyable. Macushla House was a beautiful and almost magical place. All the decor conjured up images of wild safaris. We arrived early in the morning before check-in... Our one night stay in Macushla House in Nairobi was very nice. The owners were gracious, the decor & gardens beautiful, the rooms well-appointed and comfortable, and the food was excellent. The timing of our flights did not allow us to visit any sights nearby, such as the Karen Blixen Museum or the Kazuri bead factory, which I'm certain we... More

We only had a brief overnight stay but wish we had been there longer.. fantastic service, lovely room. Lounge area had a roaring fire, current selection of papers and magazines and the dinner was also very good. Highly recommended!

We ended up at Macushla House fortuitously, really, as we wanted a half board, cheaper hotel than the Norfolk. Our agent, Imagine Africa, then suggested Macushla House, and we are glad thatt they did. My wife and I, plus a friend, were actually in Fadhili Lodge, a separate, 2-bed bungalow in the grounds - presumably it was once the guest... More

So glad we were recommended Macushal House! Stayed here for 4 nights after a month camping Safari and it was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, beds turned down every night with rosemary on the pillow and a hot water placed in the bed, wow what a special touch! Macushla House has many different rooms and areas to enjoy,... More

A charming place with peaceful gardens full of birdlife and Monkeys. The service was excellent and the food was excellent quality and fresh. The location was perfect for all the attractions. The Giraffe Centre only just around the corner. The Hotel has only 5 rooms and it was booked out when we were there. There was still plenty of room... More

We stayed here for two nights before our safari started, we arrived late at night and had arranged with Macushla for us to be picked up from the airport by a driver. This worked pefectly, the hotel is probably about 30 mins drive from the airport (depending on time of day). After arriving we were welcomed and led to our... More

We stayed here for two consecutive nights before our safari and thoroughly enjoyed our stay and met some lovely people. The hotel is located in Karen which is a much quieter upmarket area compared to central Nairobi and ideally located if you want to visit the attractions in Karen such as the Giraffe Centre and the Elephant Sanctuary. You can... More
