My wife, 13-year old granddaughter and I spent five nights at Macushla House. We arrived late the first evening and were greeted by Paul who got us settled in our own two-bedroom cottage. We were there for a couple of days while visiting an orphanage near Gnong, then left for safari and returned for three more nights before departing for... More

What a gem! My father and I stayed on 2 separate nights pre and post a trip to Rwanda. We were allocated rooms in the main house which were spacious and comfortable. My only suggestion would be for a mirror and electrical socket to be in easy reach of each other for hair drying purposes. The staff was so helpful... More

Macushla House was our first stop in Kenya & was one of three hotels we stayed in Nairobi (Fairview & Heron). This was by far the best hotel/location to base yourself when visiting Nairobi. We wanted to be close to David Sheldrick Orphan’s Project & this was only around 15/20 mins drive. This hotel has only a few members of... More

I stayed at Macushla House at the end of two weeks on safaris in Kenya and Tanzania. I stayed for two nights and because my flight out of Nairobi was not until later in the evening on my last day I was allowed to stay until I left at 6:00 pm. I love Macushla House and chose it specifically because... More

We spent 3 nights at Macushla House in September and had a wonderfully enjoyable stay. It is a small, welcoming hotel with wonderful and attentive staff. The hotel is decorated with memorabilia from around the world and it is a great place to relax pre- or post-safari. It is well worth a wander around the grounds and you may well... More

Macushla House is a small hotel in the very pretty suburb Karen in Nairobi. Its only a stone throw away from the Giraffe Centre and other attractions of Karen. The rooms are spacious, nice furnished and the whole hotel feels intimate, like being at a home.

We stayed at Macushla House at then end of our Safari. Itis such a lovely unusual house and we wished we had been able to stay longer. It's in a very safe area of Nairobi and really close the the Giraffe Sanctuary. We had an evening meal which was excellant and they were extremely kind in making us breakfast at... More

Spent 3 nights at Macushla House just prior to going on safari and had an absolutely fantastic time! This is an intimate B&B with only 6 rooms, great meals, lovely people looking after you and there seemed to always be someone interesting to have dinner with. The gardens are lovely and the vervet monkeys scampering across the roof add their... More

Chose this bed and breakfast because of it's proximity to the Giraffe Center, which is a not to be missed attraction in Karen, a nice suburb of Nairobi. I've stayed in downtown Nairobi and frankly feel uncomfortable there alone when I'm outside of my hotel. From Macushla, the walk to the giraffe center was easy and unbothered. The pool was... More

I booked the cottage at Macushla House for some friends on their first night in Kenya. The owners and staff could not have been more helpful and generous. Macushla is a gem - a tranquil and beautifully designed oasis in Nairobi.
