Our overnight stay at this charming guesthouse before heading out to Masai Mara was our second stay here and it did not disappoint. Everyone here was very welcoming and made our transition into Kenya seamless. Our rooms in the "Cottage" were well appointed and a haven in a quiet residential neighborhood in Karen. Located in close proximity to Giraffe Manor... More

Macushla House, it's owners' and staff are all magnificent. I was made to feel extremely welcome from the moment I entered. An oasis it is, surrounded by lush gardens, a pool, extraordinary service and your comfort is guaranteed. I am vegan, which may have proved an irritation to some, but not to Carolyn and her staff. I was catered for... More

Macushla is amazing!!!!! From the gate to the reception; it beautiful!! It is an exclusive restaurant... you must book in advance. The sitting rooms are big and beautiful with interesting decor, wall hangings, nice rugs on the floor. Very quiet... you only hear the sounds of the birds chirping away. The food is awesome home made meals. I had their... More

Set in the suburb of Karen on the edge of Nairobi, this hotel is a peaceful sanctuary away from the city. It is also the ideal staging-post for Wilson Airport and flights to the Mara and beyond. We arrived late and dinner was still available. We chose just to snack and have a cold glass of Tusker in the wooden... More

I stayed here upon my arrival before heading to the Mara, stayed in the main house room 3. So lovely, again stayed a day and night after my safari in the cottage. Got to meet Grant who is super nice and Stephen who made sure I had everything that I needed. To me it is more superlative than the Fairmont... More

This was a private home in a beautiful area just outside Nairobi called Karen (of Karen Blixen, "Out of Africa" fame). Now, it has a few rooms, but the feel is still completely like a private home, which makes it a great stay for travelers. This is comfortable, private, quiet, and cozy. With its lovely interior design, it has a... More

Wonderful way to relax after 11 days on Safari. Convenient to Giraffe Centre, David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Kazuri Beads. As a solo traveler, I felt very safe at Macushla. Definitely recommend this location for those looking to unwind. Food was excellent. Caroline is a wonderful hostess.

It is set in a beautiful natural garden with loads of birds and monkeys. We enjoyed our stay there because it is quiet and peaceful, the staff are excellent and very helpful. The linen needs updating and it can get costly if you are reliant on taxi's to get around as it is quite far from the main Karen shopping... More

Located in the Karen area, Macushla House is very convenient if you are going to The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Kazuri Beads, Utamaduni Craft Centre and the Galleria Mall. There are many positive reviews on Trip Advisor about this lodging, particularly for solo female travelers, and it did not disappoint. After my long flights from the U.S., I was picked... More

Set in the up-market suburb of Karen, Macushla House is about 40 minutes from the international airport (with no traffic) and closer to the Wilson airport. As noted it's close to a lot of local sightseeing spots including the Kazuri Bead Centre (well worth the visit) and you can spend a relaxing day taking in the sights. It's very nicely... More
