The place is centrally located near Nakumatt Lifestyle. It is safe and there is hot water and a flushing toilet. However, it has poor wifi, it is noisy and the rooms look somewhat aged. The price for one person is a bit high considering there are better options a few blocks away (i.e. Parkside Hotel). This place may be cheaper... More

We didn't know what to expect but we weren't disappointed! Close to the centre and a shopping centre opposite,we enjoyed our brief stay in Nairobi. We've stayed in DownTown Hotel my friend and I twice year every year since 1999 when we arrived from Ireland I agree with advice reviewer staff are very friendly but not helpful should you have heavy luggage the very long stairs to the second floor can be a challenge b having said that should you need help they will oblige... We moved here from the Terminal Hotel (which is literally a couple of doors down) and found it to be much better for pretty much the same price. The rooms were cleaner, we got hot water, our toilet flushed and the staff were friendly. Not totally helpful but friendly nonetheless. And ofcourse, good location. The cons: No wifi access, only...
