Myself and my partner stayed here just for the night on 01/09/09 prior to our Safari. After a long flight from Newcastle via Amsterdam to Nairobi. After about an hour trying to clear customs (even though in possesion of a visa) you still had to fill out 3or 4 forms to get you cleared, health reason for visit etc. Then approx... We were concerned about staying in the Jacaranda after the reviews we read but knew it was only for an overnight stay before we started our Safari. However the hotel ended up ruining the rest of the week!! The Jacaranda is not in an idyllic loacation so do not go if you are looking for a nice view!!! The porters... More

We were quite worried about staying here overnight before going on safari as the reviews have not been great. However we found this hotel comfortable and pleasant. There is building work going on by the pool and it is noisy during the day, but no problem at night. The staff are friendly and even escorted us across the road to... More

Stayed here following an overnight flight before going on a safari. Reached the hotel at about 0930 and were met with a cold drink and a hot face cloth before being given the keys to our room. It was really great to be able to dump our things, and realax before we decided to take the option of visiting the... More

General positive feeling. Not very warm, a bit impersonal. Hair dresser within the hotel. Full wifi coverage for the hotel (various wifi router). reception was good and cool thing for high bandwith users: you pay by minute and not by megabyte. a 24 hours voucher costed me 1800 Ksh. - Landry: well done, shirts whiter than never ! - Room... We arrived tired after a Virgin night flight and got to the hotel at around 7am, wondering what time we would be able to check in and catch up on some sleep. We were met by Margaret (Virgin Rep) who took the opportunity to give a brief over view of what to expect. She went on to say that if we had... Its ideal hotel for the visiting for business, conferences and yet a Nairobi base for any safaris within the region or over night connection flights. The hotel is charms and attractions. A comfortable well equipped garden hotel, within five minutes drive from the capital city central business district, it avoids the noise and bustle of the city. The hotel in... More

Dreadful hotel - worst we have stayed in 35 years of international travel across the world. Management could not have cared less; facilities non existant or broken; noisy; basic; ruined the end of our safari and our honeymoon. Food was undercooked and could have caused illness if eaten; avoid at all costs and do not believe anything they promise you... More

We only stayed a night but that was too long . Staff were uninterested , rooms had no air con and for a hotel in Nairobi that means hot hot nights !! Food was worst that a motorway cafe . For me a poor ending to lovely holiday in Kenya.

We were booked into the Jacaranda for two nights before starting a safari. It was basic, with hard beds, but was clean. The breakfast was poor and cold. The biggest problem was noise from a nightclub late at night followed my building works in the morning. Probably ok for one night but not for the start of a honeymoon
