We stayed here one night at the start and one night at the end of our Virgin safari holiday. Food was very good.

The hotel is fine... the breakfast is fine... the rooms are ok... very basic for the caliber of place it claims to be. I wouldn't have minded any of this if it weren't for the astronomical price. The price is greater than other wonderful hotels (like The Fair view Inn) that offer nicer rooms and better amenities. Also.. keep your... More

We stayed at the Jacaranda for one night in February 2010 at the beginning of our Virgin Holidays Safari. We were rather concerned because most reviews were quite poor, but there is no need to worry: this hotel is certainly OK for a night or two. Arrival We landed in Nairobi around 9am, were greeted by a very nice rep... More

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night and that was enough! It is ok if staying there before going on a safari the next day but certainly nothing longer. We were told of building work but were not told that the whole pool was out of action and the only area to sit and relax was on the tiny... More

I stayed at the Jacaranda before and although it's definitely not the best value for money in Nairobi I decided to stay there again since it's reasonably close to the office. The hotel has not changed much since 2006 (last time I stayed there) but this time they were renovating the swimming pool and the place was quite noisy during... More

We had travelled entire night, with a stop over at Dubai. After missing a good night sleep, we were pretty tired. Immigration staff were were polite and friendly. (I always wondered why immigration staff at all airports are serious and do not give a welcome smile) Kenya was different, both at Nairobi and Mombasa airports. Airport to hotel was no... More

We stayed at the Jacaranda for one night before our safari and again prior to our return home. Rooms are clean no air con but there is a ceiling fan. Bathrooms are clean and well equipped. Location is good with a pizza restaurant and a good shopping mall just across the road, we also found a sports bar within a... More

We arrived at the Jacaranda Hotel after an excellent flight with BA. The reception we received was freindly and affable. Welcoming soft drinks and and friendly smiles before being shown to our room. Twin bedded but clean and servicable which was all that we expected plus an excellent breakfast in the morning. We stayed for 3 nights prior to our... More

This place is next to the loudest bar in the area (gypies is however also the place to be on a friday/saturday) and a building site. The rooms are basic and the bed are like sleeping on a stone. It also very expensive for what you get...i stayed for 4 nights and moved to another hotel (wassini) and would not... More

We stayed at the Jacaranda for a stopover for the last night of our honeymoon and what was supposed to be a romantic, wonderful end turned out to be the worst night of the trip. We left our fantastic all inclusive hotel (Voyager Beach Resort) in Mombasa at 4.15pm to catch a flight to Nairobi for the stopover that would... More
