We read previous logs on this hotel and were terrified about staying there. However we found it to be a decent 3 star style hotel set in its own grounds with friendly staff and adequate facilities. The food is acceptable and is priced similar to what you would find in the UK. It is perfectly decent for one night, however... More

We stayed here at the start of our safari from the UK. The hotel is better than I had expected. We had lunch in the outdoor cafe under the trees (samosas etc and Tusker beer at 300 Kenyan Shillings) and the food and service were good. Dinner in the restaurant was approx £17 for 4 courses and the main course... More

Clean and good location. The garden is very nice and staff helpful and friendly. Not so expensive and close to the best jaapnese restaurant in Nairobi.

When first knew that I was to stay @the Jacaranda i was a bit scared since it is not a five star hotel and in Nairobi...! specially when some of our friends where staying at the hilton and the intercon ..but when i went there i spent the best days of my life. very friendly staff from the bell man... 2 nights stay. Reception is helpful. Lobby is well presented. Room is comfortable enough. There are 2 things that I find missing from the room. 1st is that there are no slippers in the room. Nairobi is cold, yet there are no slippers. Basically you are walking on cold floor tiles. 2nd is that there are no bathrobes provided. Price... More

Without question, the best feature of the Jacaranda is the location -- smack dab in the middle of Westlands and the many malls, restaurants, shops, and nightlife. The pace here is different than the chaos of centre city Nairobi -- still bustling, but the heartland for expats ands middle/upper-class Kenyans enjoying the creature comforts that you would find in most... Nice and friendly staff members, always trying to help. Okay hotel but the construction work will make it better i hope. Nice areas for shopping and the breakfast was okay too. The neighbourhood is a bit noisy, especially the streets. Internet use was free but had to be renewed daily, a minor irritant only. Nets provided in all the rooms,... More

The price increased a lot in the past months, reaching around 260 USDF per night. Very well situated, in the centre of the city, safe environment, close to Sarit mall and Westgate mall, as well as lot of good restaurants. Rooms are a bit old, but still okay.

This was the first hotel we stayed at in Kenya and was fine. Stayed in better, stayed in a lot, lot worse... in detail.... Check in was smooth, rooms are clean, mosquito nets came as standard. Heaps of security around the main entrance and wandering through at various times so you feel quite safe throughout. Hotel has a pool. While... More

A strange experience...Jacaranda has an excellent location, seriously walking distance to a really nice shopping centre, and good choice of restaurants around the hotel, including the hotels own Safari Cafe Rooms are a bit behind, the beds are the hardest surface you can sleep on, apart from sleeping on the ground. But what makes staying here a truely great and... More
