We stayed at Manyatta Backpackers for ten days and had the best time! The staff are SO friendly, cheerful and helpful - we miss them and send our love! There's an awesome chill out area with a fire pit and a bar packed with local beers. They make the BEST pap and stew there for so cheap. Beds are comfy... More

I would recomend it. Showers are hot and internet is quite fast..both very important if you're travelling trough Africa. Good position as well..I was thinking about something closer to the city center but in Nariobi is a way better being a bit far away from the crowd. The place is nice and food is fab (I always had rive and... More

Stayed there and hated every minute!! The staff is soooo mean! Every day they were arguing with me that I didn't pay! Only the very fast wifi is good there. Far from the city, the showers aren't always hot. really hated this place :(

In terms of facilities, you get more or less what you pay for. The staff here however are fantastic. They organised almost all of our tours and transport, and always had somebody available to assist us. Our main driver David Njuguna was also excellent, and does guided tours for Mt Kenya, and even picked me up from the airport (twice)... More

Hostel has a good location for getting into town. There is free fast wifi. Showers are warm-ish at best and the food is rather dull and microwaved instead of cooked when ordered. Probably had the worst ugali in Africa here, eat out in town. Staff is helpful and dorms are clean with 5 year old themed bed coverings (Winnie the... More

Manyatta offers an excellent staff that will be ready to help with anything. The place owns 2 showers and toalite but always clean. Cheap prices for food and beer. with strange reason, untypical to africa, the WiFi is on really high speed. 15$for shared room. There is also camping area. Very good simple place.

The staff lack competence, although they are good about locking the gate. Like many in East Africa, they never have small money for change, a payment to one does not necessarily mean anyone else knows, and in general clarity is lacking. The bathrooms are all common, even for the "private shared bathroom" although all have closable stalls. The beds are... More

Pros: Nice, pleasant place; hot showers; free and fast WiFi; good value for money. Breakfast is included, which makes it convenient and they also have a restaurant that offers affordable meals - great French fries! The staff is generally friendly except for one. Cons: The jovial atmosphere is only ruined by a rude, sour, hostile cleaning lady with a permanent... More

Really good place and the staff are super friendly and sorted out my climb up Mount Kenya which was perfect. My only main criticism of this place was that I thought it was expensive for what you get ($15 for a dorm, the most I paid for a dorm on my trip)... however having said that I had just come... More

First of all, this is a really cheap hotel so you do get what yo pay for! Its located about 20min from the city center (by walking). The rooms are basic and quite worn but the sheets and linens are clean. Hard pillows thou. The bathroom (shared with others) is old to say the least but it does the job,... More
