Is the ladies changing-room/steam/sauna meant to be used by the members of stuff or guests? Monday evening in the steam room lights were off l had the chance to see one member of stuff I could not read her name tag due to the tinted door but she had a white polo t-shirt paired with dark pants. She came in used... very much enjoyed the stay. Hotel as the naive (me) assumes the good old british times. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast outdoor was a great location, food was good, variety varies but always ok.

This is a great place to make your base on your way to or from the Safari. It dates from an earlier age, so you can imagine yourself in colonial times. But it has been completely upgraded, so it is modern and comfortable. The staff is quite friendly and helpful. There is a cute and famously historical veranda where you... More

This is a classic, old scholl hotel. It gives you the sense of what it must have been like at the best hotel in the region back in the '40s. The hotel is well maintained, with friendly, attentive service. Check in was prompt and efficient. As many have said, there is a beautiful central courtyard and garden. The main bar... More

Great hotel in the Nairobi. Room was fantastic although the mini bar is well overpriced. The service of the staff was excellent and the little extras they provide when you order drinks or food are wonderful.

The Norfolk Hotel exudes the charm of a hotel built in the early part of the 20th century. Most of the room surround a lovely grassy courtyard, with pretty flowers and other greenery. I stayed there for two nights at the beginning of an East Africa safari, and one night at the end. I must say that the room at... More

We stayed at the Fairmont Norfolk at the beginning and end of our safari to East Africa. We had a standard single room initially and were upgraded to a suite on our return to the hotel. The Norfolk has a great history and tradition which dates back to British colonial days. It is located across the road from the University... More

My travel agent booked my family of five in three rooms at this hotel for one night with transportation to and from the nearby airport. When I arrived at the airport, I was met by a driver in a basic car with room for four passengers, who seemed to want all five of us to cram in until we insisted... More

This certainly was a high quality hotel. The room I stayed in was tastefully decorated, spacious, clean and comfortable. I never heard any noise from neighbouring rooms (usually an issue in most other hotels). The food in the restaurants was of the highest quality. The lobster and squid pizza was devine. The size of portions was generous. The bread basket... More

We had the benefit of staying in both hotels in Nairobi during our trip so we were able to compare and contrast them. The Fairmont Norfolk had a lovely setting with gardens and courtyard. We were upgraded to a nice, spacious suite in the courtyard. Bed and Bathroom well appointed. Only glitch, asked about getting a massage about 3PM and... More
