I loved this hotel. Elegant but not too fancy, nice sense of history, beautiful rooms, really nice staff. Wonderful restaurant. The only things I didn't like were the slightly byzantine internet process and the excessive cost for laundry.

Apart from the location I have to say this is Nairobis best property.

I stayed at the Norfolk for one night last month as I was leaving Kenya for S. Africa. It was nice, which one would expect from a hotel for that price. The gardens are lovely and the room spacious and overlooking all the green. Had a nice drink in the bar before dinner and ate at their super-expensive restaurant. Had... More

We chose to stay here on the tail end of our trip. The hotel is nice, spacious and has a good restaurant - Tatu. The only issue is the service. It's very hard to get the front desk. We tried all day without luck. They are good when you can get a hold of them, though. The hotel also has... More

Arrived May 26th Morning from Copenhagen and Daresalaam respectively... we were exhausted as one could imagine, but on arrival at the front desk, the lady was very kind as we were to check in from midday but she upgraded us to a deluxe room...hmmmmm oh the holiday started right there and then, we even forgot about the traffic from JKIAirport... They were requesting $269 + tax and we managed $169+tax in a suite style room There is a lovely small and cool pool. as well as gym faciliites. the hotel... More

Stayed there overnight waiting for my flight to onward destination. Got myself upgraded to a 1-bedroom suite for a reasonable charge. Fairmont Norfolk is supposed to be a 'legendary' property, but I was not in the least impressed - it was just another upscale hotel like the Sheratons, Hiltons, Hyatts etc., nothing special that I could see or experience. I... More

Maybe not the most modern hotel in Nairobi, but certainly the best in terms of "Grande Dame" style. Especially the lobby library and the restaurant terrace exude the atmosphere of a bygone time, perfect for the start or end of a safari trip.

We stayed in a duplex suite for five nights at the end of our two week safari and we loved it. Splurge for a suite and you will not be disappointed. Also be sure to book and bed and breakfast rate. The food is very good at each of the dining areas. Tutu, their fine dining room, is outstanding. Our... More
