Historic photos all over, lovely gardens and pool/gym, good meals, helpful staff. Rooms are Fairmont quality- upgrades in the last 10 years excellent. Easily the classiest hotel to stay at on arrival in NBO!

Takes you back to the bygone years of old East Africa - hotel is steeped in history and olde world charm. Attentive staff, good choice of meals at two fine restaurants. Pool and gym facilities round off a great hotel.

Quite nice hotel with a heritage. Very nice gardens. It's close to the National Museum. (10min walk). There's a local market on every Tue. which is walking distance as well. I've got some really value for money souvenirs there. Staffs are friendly and quite helpful.

A well appointed room in a well cared for hotel. Great location and excellent ambience. Very helpful staff ,great food , excellent fitness centre , warm pool and lovely grounds. Well worth joining the presidents club to access the wifi and use of the fitness centre. They even provide the running shoes. Locker room was spacious and clean.

Business trip/Stopover in Fairmont, Very nice colonial tradition (style) hotel in Nairobi. Very friendly staff. Only struggled with exchange, as you are not able to change into US - but that was a minor thing. CinCin Bar is great to sit outside, chill and enjoying a cocktail or the famous Tusker Beer.

I stayed at the Norfolk for a few times over a period of weeks and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I had a problem once checking in but it was swiftly resolved. The rooms are proper and so is the food. I dared not venture into Tatu restaurant, but Lord Delamere Terrace did just fine... More

This time I got the opportunity to use the bar and restaurants; the service was excellent and the quality of the food/beverages matched. I'm looking forward to returning... More

My partner and I had a marvellous 5 days at the Fairmont The Norfolk. Great room, really helpful and professional staff. Highly recommended. Location is good but neither in the real centre of town nor in leafy suburbs. Security very good

Nairobi Norfolk is a hidden jewel in the city of Nairobi. It is designed in an old english style. The environment is calm and serene. Very ideal for business meetings and business stays. The food is good with a wide variety of drinks. I would recommend it for any business traveller.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel has played a leading role in Kenya's colorful history, and continues to be the best-known luxury hotel in Nairobi. The town and later the modern city of Nairobi grew up around Fairmont The Norfolk hotel, which still has its own private tropical gardens. The hotel is still the traditional starting point for safaris and the Lord Delamere Terrace is modern Nairobi's popular meeting place, where drinks and light meals are served continuously from morning till late evening.Fairmont The Norfolk was expanded in 1999 and subsequently renovated in time for its centennial celebrations in 2004. The Delamere & Acacia Wing were refurbished in 2012 to give the rooms a modern touch, whilst preserving their charm and unique personality. The Nairobi hotel now offers accommodations in 170 guest rooms and suites, has eight conference rooms, the largest seating 175 delegates, a heated outdoor swimming pool, health club with gym, sauna and steam room and gift shops. ... more   less
