Stayed at the Norfolk in 1993 and again this year. Still the same excellent service and great staff. Great place to start off your visit to Kenya. The rooms are a bit tired, but the dining, lounge and bar facilities are first class. Best buffet breakfast I've had anywhere in the world!

Very nice hotel, friendly staff and excellent facilities. Very expensive as are the related services but that is what you expect. Very good food. Gym and steam/sauna very clean and good options available. Short walk to the national museum for a quick visit.

A historic oasis of rest in the middle of Nairobi - beautiful restauration of one of the oldest hotels in Nairobi - clearly a place to be for rich tourists, business people and the kenian jet set - highly secured - there are enough reviews on tripadvisor to understand how good the rooms, the garden, the bar, the restaurants and... this hotel is more than a 5star hotel. The security is excellent. The hotel is clean and just beautiful. The staff are very helpful and friendly. It has a warmed pool making it great during cold weather. The restaurant serves a variety of food and it's just the best.

We stayed at the Stanley savoy and this and by far the Stanley came up triumphs when it comes to good old fashioned service and charm. The receptionist at the counter seemed more interested in not helping us and asking for any information on breakfast seemed to be something she was happy for the porter to explain given we were... During my recent visit to Kenya I stayed at the Fairmont The Norfolk hotel. This hotel claims to be the first hotel in East Africa. A large complex built with colonial style architecture, it is a beautiful place. The interior gardens are stunning and the swimming poo area is pretty as well. The hotel itself is full of grace and... More

If I remember correctly, Fairmont Norfolk charges us over US$250 per night. When you switch water tap, you will be amazed to see red water running. Is this US$250 experience? I know everybody loves game, old colonial atmosphere for once in lifetime big journey to Nairobi. But are you really sure for red water? I would rather stay at Kempenski.... More

East Africa's first hotel never ever let's me down. I have been staying here since 1998 on all my trips to East Africa. I love the old colonial look. The rooms are large and spacious and their evening Tea out on the verandah is to die for! I love the service here as well. Top class. Look forward to being... More

But with all the mod cons! Staff could not do enough to help and the restaurant was incredible thanks to Executive Chef Zachary. Swimming pool is clean and inviting. Rooms are set around the central square of a beautiful garden.

This hotel is located in the city near the business district. It's an old house from the commonwealth period with a big courtyard in the middle. The design and environment is different from the traditional 5 star hotels. The room I selected was deluxe and had a good size with a descent bathroom that included a bath tub and shower.... More
