We stayed for a total of 3 nights at the Nairobi Serena hotel during our 2 week holiday in Kenya. This is a great hotel in Nairobi city center, and almost looks like a museum with all the decoration you find everywhere on the walls. Rooms are very good, food quality both at breakfast buffet and for lunch/dinner is great.... More

I stayed here for work, and it was a very pleasant stay generally. The pool and Spa facilities are great, and the gym has a good amount of up to date kit. The only problem being that the air-con is little hotter than I would be used to in the UK! There is a good choice of restaurants, but the... More

We stayed at the hotel for one night before going on a six night Safari. We arrived at the hotel about 8.30 in the morning and had to wait for aprox. 45 minutes before our room was available, which was understandable at this time of day as check out is 11.00. The room was a good size and comfortable. The... More

Fine if you are stuck in Nairobi for a night for business or a cancelled flight but the whole place feels very shabby and its title as a "Leading Hotel of the World" is just a joke. I am now very wary of any hotel with this award ... I arrived late to find a lone receptionist trying to check... More

Expensive and overated for nothing. I have stayed here at least three times a year for the last 5 years. I am an American citizen with Kenyan background, and its amazing how this hotel treats guest based on appearance. I wonder if they train their receptionists on how to treat people based on appeaance. This place has an obsession for... More

Reference is made to the review of Nairobi Serena Hotel by TA member (MD Baltimore) Whilst we do not claim that our standard bedrooms are large, the size at 25.2 sq mtrs is not considered unreasonable. The comment on corridors being “dark and creepy” is the first such complaint we have received in over thirty years of the Hotel’s existence.... More

If you need to be downtown, then Serena is a good place to be. The rooms are comfortable, there is a nice bar and restauarant, a sports club, business center, and a good pool. Service is generally very good. There are lots of taxis, but i dont reccomend using the hotel service to book safaris. You can line up a... More

We arrived at the hotel and were offered complimentary beer, wine, coffee or tea served in our room. The pool and health centre are lovely and the atomosphere is great. Lively and vibrant. Penhaligan bath products are supplied. The only let down was check out We had pre paid and checked out at reception asking reception to provide a taxi.... More

We had one night in Nairobi before we headed out on safari. I have to say I don't really know how this hotel deserves the title "One of the World's Leading Hotels". Whilst it's not bad it's not great either. The Serena lodges we stayed at on safari were fantastic but I felt this was not in their league. The... More

We had one night in the Serena but wished we had stayed longer. We had a large room that was spotlessly clean. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. We ate in the restaurant where there was a buffet and an a la carte menu which was all very nice. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate... More
