This was our 3rd stay at this beautiful hotel in the middle of Nairobi. Again we just stayed before and after safari to Kenya and Tanzania. From the outside the hotel looks like 1970s, but on the inside it is beautifully decorated and has an African feeling. The bar has upside down umbrellas hanging down and surrounded by flat screen... I spent 4 nights here and it was a super experience. Without a doubt, the nicest staff I have ever encountered in a hotel. The rooms are very quiet, sparkling clean with a good selection of pillows. The breakfast buffet was very fine and the Friday night seafood buffet was spectacular. I took a number of meals at the pool... More

The hotel is very nice but a bit expensive. It is located at the center of Nairobi. It is very hard to access the center since almost 24 hours there is heavy traffic. I preffer hotels that are not in tNairbi city center.

I arrived at 8 am after a long, sleepless flight fully expecting to wait in the lounge until check-in time. The staff at reception, after a few minutes re-arranging things on the computer, found me a vacant room and allowed me to proceed to check-in immediately. Being able to shower and grab a few hours sleep was life-restoring! The staff... More

Comfortable room, great restaurants and excellent breakfast. The security was very good and the staff was very nice. The swimming pool is also good. The location is very nice, close to a nice and relaxing garden in the center of Nairobi.

Have just checked out after spending a week here on business. My first time staying in the Serena in about 5 years. An older traditional hotel, excellent location and great facilities. Most importantly all the staff I encountered from the front desk to the room staff were warm, welcoming and friendly. There is no doubt this was genuine, not the... More

I spent 3 nights in this hotel and really loved it. My room had a large, comfortable bed and a convenient (since I arrived after 1am) mini-bar. Very clean, with good lighting. Breakfast buffet was huge and diverse, and one could choose to eat outdoors in lovely surroundings. Swam in the huge pool. One night the restaurant served "swahili buffet",... More

Pros: Stayed in this hotel for five nights in Nairobi and I enjoyed it. The pick up service from the airport to the reception were all nice. The check in process was impressive despite the large number of visitors they did everything to try and speed up the process. I could feel the African hospitality here which helped me relax.... More

Stayed here as part of a tour before going on safari. Very nice and clean nice meals and excellent staff. Even though it was in Nairobi it felt very safe I would recommend this hotel to all couples and families
