Have just checked out after spending a week here on business. My first time staying in the Serena in about 5 years. An older traditional hotel, excellent location and great facilities. Most importantly all the staff I encountered from the front desk to the room staff were warm, welcoming and friendly. There is no doubt this was genuine, not the... More

I spent 3 nights in this hotel and really loved it. My room had a large, comfortable bed and a convenient (since I arrived after 1am) mini-bar. Very clean, with good lighting. Breakfast buffet was huge and diverse, and one could choose to eat outdoors in lovely surroundings. Swam in the huge pool. One night the restaurant served "swahili buffet",... More

Pros: Stayed in this hotel for five nights in Nairobi and I enjoyed it. The pick up service from the airport to the reception were all nice. The check in process was impressive despite the large number of visitors they did everything to try and speed up the process. I could feel the African hospitality here which helped me relax.... More

Stayed here as part of a tour before going on safari. Very nice and clean nice meals and excellent staff. Even though it was in Nairobi it felt very safe I would recommend this hotel to all couples and families

Wonderful, well located hotel for anyone needing to spend time in Nairobi and not on a budget. Comfortable rooms, with Wifi, large beds, flatscreen TV and mini fridge. Hotel has a great pool and a couple of different restaurants to choose from. The breakfast buffet in the morning had all the typical breakfast servings, with lots of fresh fruit and... More

Really enjoyed an unplanned night here due to a cancelled international flight. I booked through online through Expedia only a few hours in advance for a deluxe queen room. The staff are truly excellent, and i found them very keen to make sure my stay was comfortable. My room (deluxe queen bed) was traditionally furnished and very well equipped. The... More

If a hotel can be romantic, this is it. Lovely lobby, bar and library area. Public spaces are beautifully decorated with artifacts from all over Africa. The garden is lush, with the most fantastic cricket and frogs sounds after dusk (except smoking is allowed there, and it carries to the pool dining area). BEAUTIFUL, well maintained pool and spa. The... More

We stayed in July 2014 at the Nairobi Serena for 4 nights. Our plan was to stay someplace very comfortable after a 24 hour journey from New York, recover from jet lag, see a few sites in Nairobi, and then depart on a Safari. The hotel exceeded my expectations: the facility is top notch, with a beautiful gym/spa (including excellent... More

You want a great feeling in the city? Nairobi Serena is your preferred choice. pop in for lunch if you got no time; great delicacies! But I would recommend one or two nights.... Serena is preferred by Serena Williams and you know why. Last time she came the hotel was her home so why don't follow the footsteps?

Weekend break to Nairobi, wanted somewhere with a convenient location, but also safe and nice!! This definitely fitted that description, convenient location to get to the main sights from, felt safe and the decor and ambience are nice too. Bed in particular very comfortable!!! Food and drinks nice, service very good, not cheap but then you wouldn't expect it to... More
