The Serena in Nairobi offers a world of quiet and luxury right in the middle of the city. It has become the hotel of choice for diplomatic negotiations ever since former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan made it the venue for the mediation talks he chaired to end the country's post-election violence in 2007/2008. There is a very discreet feel... More

The service at the Serena Hotel was excellent! From the concierge to the business centre to the restaurants and laundry - all the staff were very friendly and helpful. On the third day that I was there, I fell ill and the staff were very sympathetic and helped call a doctor. I would recommend this hotel for all and given... More

You can't beat the setting and grounds of this hotel. The pool area and lobby are world class and the gardens are beautifully maintained. The restaurant is very good and service is generally ok. The rooms are spacious and well laid out. One of the more expensive options but great for business travel. The gym is the best I've come... More

When I come here I dream about being at the Serena Kigali or the Serena Kampala. This Serena is really poor. It is really noisy, usually the trucks wake me up. There is a very busy road to the hotel and the windows don't seem to be good. The aircon is so noisy that sometimes you don't hear the trucks... More

First visit to Nairobi and stated at the Serena on recommendation from our local office. - What a great hotel. Security effective and polite on entry to car park and at main entrance. Very professional welcome from door staff and reception, really made me feel welcome. Room very well appointed, large and spotless. Bathroom very good as well, and lots... More

The hotel is very nice compared to other 5 star hotels in Nairobi. The staff is helpful and offers an excellent service. The X-mas decoration was also very nice, almost like home. The pool and garden is very nice and good maintained. The rooms are a bit old, but for African standards just fine. This will be my second home... More

Nice little hotel with a great interior (slightly outdated by international standards, but very nice by local standards). Good bar area with comfortable seats and spaces. Nice little garden to walk around in. Great choices at breakfast and dinner too, with good service all round. Big, comfortable rooms with everything you'd need.

We started our holiday it this hotel. We felt very safe staying here and appreciated the security in place. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the restaurant and relaxing by the pool after our tours. Very friendly staff.

My wife and I stayed two nights at the start of our safari. This hotel stacks up against their competition very well. Hotel staff was very polite and obviously well trained. The location is central, and convenient. Our room was comfortable and well appointed with shampoo, soaps, etc.
